The registered nurse assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and supervises individual patient care using the nursing process. Accepts responsibility for direction of co-workers and delegation of role-appropriate tasks in the implementation of care. Job Qualifications:

• Education: Completion of an accredited nursing program resulting in a Diploma, Associate degree, or Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
• Licensure/Certification: Valid license to practice in the Client; CPR required.
• Experience: Previous Registered Nursing experience preferred.
• Job-related Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to problem-solve and facilitate resolution to issues; demonstrates ability to handle multiple priorities; capable of making independent decisions; strong critical thinking skills.

Essential Job Functions:

• Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care for each patient according to the nursing process.
• Provides quality care based on assessment needs and established plans.
• Educates patients and families throughout the admission and discharge process.
• Documents the nursing process accurately and legibly.
• Notifies physician of pertinent observations and changes in patient status.
• Administers medications and performs treatments accurately and safely.
• Implements physician orders as written.
• Ensures equipment and supplies are readily available for patient care.

• Requires ability to manage emotions and exercise self-control in the workplace.
• Must be able to handle urgent situations calmly and communicate empathetically with patients.
• Supervises and directs the work of nursing assistants in a professional manner.
• May experience stress related to time management and working with individuals in distress.
