Job description

The Risk Management Policy Analyst will be responsible for leading efforts to shape risk management policy, leveraging industry knowledge and experience. Support the Senior Director, Risk Policy, Recovery & Resolution in building out risk management policies related to current and evolving regulatory obligations, with specific focus on CFTC regulations. The Risk Management Policy Associate must have strong knowledge of U.S. regulatory requirements for clearing houses and be able to apply that knowledge to Clearing House rules and services.

The Risk Management Policy Analyst will be responsible for establishing and maintaining risk management policies consistent with relevant regulations, including relating to the recovery and wind-down plans for CME Group's clearing services.Additionally, to address evolving regulatory frameworks, the Risk Management Policy Associate will:

  • Develop and execute strategic policy positions (e.g., comment letters and talking points) in coordination with other key internal stakeholders. Ensure effective communication and presentation of initiatives to internal and external stakeholders (e.g., clients and regulatory bodies).

  • Support development for major project initiatives within the Clearing House from a policy perspective, including in response to regulatory changes and new business plans.

  • Lead the effort to keep CME Clearing's senior management appraised of various regulatory developments affecting the Clearing House. Work closely with others within and outside of the Clearing House, including Legal.

  • Liaise and build relationships with with trade associations as they develop their policy positions, including in response to recent policy proposals.

The Risk Management Policy Analyst will work across groups to evaluate requirements and assess the impact to CME Group and our clients.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in economics, finance, political science, or related field.

  • Possess strong written communication skills and analytical and problem-solving skills, along with being highly detail oriented with respect to drafting policies and analyzing complex regulatory requirements relative to CME Group's rules.

  • Knowledge of CFTC regulatory requirements and more broadly, knowledge of financial markets and derivatives products.

  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative team environment.

Actual salary offered will be dependent on a wide array of factors including but not limited to: relevant experience, skills, education and comparison to internal employees (where relevant).
