Job Description
We are seeking a candidate with a strong background in warehouse operations and safety to join our team as an Onsite Safety Associate.
The Onsite Safety Associate is responsible for planning, developing, and coordinating safety, health, and environmental objectives to ensure effective safety management for one of ABM's client locations. This role supports a fast-paced environment and requires hands-on experience identifying risks, promoting safe work practices, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
It would be day shift M-F with some Saturdays as needed by the client.
Compensation: $79,040 annual salary/ $38.00 hourly
The pay listed is the salary range for this position. Any specific offer will vary based on the successful applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data. You may be eligible to participate in a Company incentive or bonus program

Responsibilities
  • Partner with the client EHS team to effectively ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
  • Ensure that all EHS-related events involving the ABM team are reported in a timely manner. This includes injuries, near misses, safety concerns, and good catches.
  • Responsible for implementing and evaluating safety efforts that effectively communicate and support ABM safety policies in a consistent manner with a key focus on incident prevention and loss abatement.
  • Ensure that all staff hired by ABM are properly trained and qualified to safely perform their scope of work. Assess and monitor performance to assure that work is performed safely and maintain these records.
  • Participate in site risk assessments in partnership with the client EHS team.
  • Lead the development of Job Hazard Analysis (JHAs) for the ABM team's work tasks, identifying the associated hazards and designing and implementing controls to mitigate identified risks.
  • Review Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to align with ABM's safe working requirements.
  • Lead regularly scheduled safety audits, risk assessments, inspections, training and meetings to determine the effectiveness of ABM's safety and accident prevention activities.
  • Conduct accident investigations, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions/preventive actions for events affecting ABM team members.
  • Maintain compliance with all OSHA recordkeeping requirements for ABM team members, including but not limited to, OSHA 300 logs, training records and other compliance programs requirements specified in state-led OSHA and/or Fed OSHA.
  • Drive the evolution of ABM's safety culture by ensuring that all business strategies and safety initiatives align with ABM's vision, mission and goals.
  • Maintain knowledge of safety, health and environmental regulations at all levels of government, including federal, state and local and possess the ability to evaluate, document and report on compliance with policies, procedures, rules and regulations to ensure operational compliance.
  • Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Required Experience:
  • 2+ years of safety and risk management experience.
  • OSHA 30

Preferred Experience:
  • Ability to effectively work closely with safety management to ensure that all aspects of the safety program are met.
  • Working knowledge of federal and/or state regulations pertaining to Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations.
  • Ability to develop and conduct effective health, safety and environmental training programs and meetings such as confined space, lockout/tagout, PIT, electrical safety.
  • Have a working knowledge of complex PIT operations in a production or warehouse setting and conduct PIT training certifications on a regular basis.
  • Skilled in project management, problem-solving techniques and communicating ideas and instructions clearly.
  • Skilled in activities and operations of others, including hazardous situations.
  • Skilled in relationship-building, teamwork, and collaboration.
  • Strong working knowledge of Office suite.
  • Ability to prioritize projects and deliver key objectives in a timely manner under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic, results-oriented environment.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
