Job Description Associate Director, Digital Enablement Job Summary The Associate Director, Digital Enablement provides strategic leadership and technical expertise for the delivery and support of a diverse application portfolio. This role ensures that digital services align with organizational priorities and evolving business needs while driving application modernization, portfolio optimization, and innovation. The position is responsible for strengthening governance, lifecycle management, vendor relationships, and operational excellence to deliver secure, scalable, and sustainable technology solutions that support long-term business objectives.

Key Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership Lead the evolution of the application portfolio to improve agility, scalability, and innovation while supporting modern delivery and operating models. Conduct portfolio-level assessments to evaluate application fitness, sustainability, cost, and risk, identifying opportunities for modernization, rationalization, and value realization. Develop and continuously improve enterprise application lifecycle management practices aligned with industry standards.

Establish and mature product management capabilities, including application roadmaps, performance metrics, benchmarks, and executive reporting. Create and maintain frameworks that support the evaluation and responsible adoption of emerging technologies. People Leadership Foster staff engagement, capability development, and workforce resilience.

Identify future skill requirements and address capability gaps across teams. Coach leaders and employees in developing critical competencies and leadership capabilities. Support career development, succession planning, and continuous learning opportunities.

Promote an inclusive, collaborative, and high-performing culture. Vendor and Stakeholder Management Manage relationships with vendors and service providers to ensure cost-effective, high-quality service delivery and adherence to contractual commitments. Build strong partnerships with business and technology leaders to support strategic initiatives.

Collaborate across teams to ensure alignment of digital solutions with organizational goals. Operational Excellence Provide oversight of application operations to ensure reliable production performance and sustainable release and deployment practices. Define standards and best practices that support secure, automated, and resilient operations.

Ensure application services meet requirements related to privacy, security, accessibility, sustainability, and regulatory compliance. Partner with risk, privacy, and security stakeholders to protect sensitive information and mitigate operational risks. Financial Management Lead budget planning, forecasting, resource allocation, and expenditure management for the application portfolio.

Negotiate and allocate financial, physical, and human resources to support strategic programs and initiatives. Monitor performance targets and ensure efficient use of resources. Innovation and Continuous Improvement Anticipate technology trends and assess the impact of emerging capabilities on the organization.

Promote continuous improvement, quality assurance, and business process optimization. Champion transformation initiatives that enhance service quality and organizational effectiveness. Additional Responsibilities Provide technical expertise in the development and expansion of innovative technology solutions and services.

Support major programs and projects through effective planning and resource management. Maintain current knowledge of industry trends, technologies, and best practices. Perform other related duties as required.

Reporting Structure: Reports To Director, Digital Enablement. Leadership Scope Provides leadership to employees and consultants, both directly and indirectly through multiple levels of management. Qualifications: Education and Experience Postgraduate degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Minimum 11 years of related experience, including: At least 5 years in a leadership or management capacity. Extensive experience in the design, implementation, and support of enterprise technology solutions. Preferred Experience: Senior-level experience managing application development and operations.

Experience with performance management, career development, succession planning, organizational change, budgeting, and financial management. Experience supporting SaaS, commercial off-the-shelf (COTS), and on-premises applications. Knowledge of ITIL processes and service management practices.

Experience implementing Lean IT, Agile methodologies, and application modernization initiatives. Strong understanding of current trends and technologies within the information and communications technology industry. Demonstrated expertise in: Strategic and tactical planning Project and risk management Business process improvement Continuous improvement and quality assurance Operations management and customer service Leadership and Interpersonal Skills Exceptional leadership and organizational abilities.

Strong consulting, facilitation, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills. Ability to build and maintain strategic relationships. Proven ability to lead diverse teams and foster collaboration.
