Job description

The Senior ROW Agent performs complex ROW and real estate acquisition activities with a high degree of independence. This role serves as a core producer within the ROW team and expected to travel more than 75% of the time.

The Senior ROW Agent routinely interacts with customers, vendors, and partners to conduct complex and sensitive landowner negotiations with confidentiality. This position will also manage high-visibility, high-risk, challenging parcels as assigned and independently work through any issues that arise during acquisition and escalate as required.

Other duties are to include the ability to read, comprehend, and suggest revisions, where appropriate for title, legal descriptions, appraisals, legal documents, and engineered drawings and plans.

Investigate and review quantitative site and route selection analysis to make directionally correct decisions supporting the assigned project while supporting and communicating with the Lead ROW Agents and Project Managers as requested.

All other duties as assigned.

Required:

  • Minimum of 2 years of direct and relevant experience with a bachelor or associate degree & industry certification
  • Minimum of 4 years of direct and relevant experience without a degree
  • Demonstrated ability of successfully acquiring real estate property rights using proven negotiation and problem solving skills
  • Thorough understanding of real estate acquisition processes including title, surveying, appraisals, legal contracts, and damage settlements
  • Solid understanding of the utility, energy, transportation, and/or infrastructure industry
  • Proven negotiation and problem solving skills
  • Experience working with industry technology including GIS and project management software
  • Willingness to travel from project to project. Travel varies but often exceeds 75% and can be up to 100% at times
  • Exceptional organization and interpersonal skills
  • Understand organizational processes, tools, and functional roles
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Notary commission or the ability to gain one in the first 90 days required
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required

  • Industry designation or certification (IRWA, AAPL, PMP) or the ability to gain one
