We offer a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.

Job Summary

This  role will be filled at the either associate or mid level depending on candidates experience.

Associate ROA: This role researches, creates, secures and processes easements, quitclaims and other related distribution rights-of-way documentation. Coordinate and maintain communication with both internal and external customers, including legal representation, municipalities, title companies, surveyors, environmental, Dominion's internal legal department, landowners and other entities pertaining to questions, the acquisition or proof of new and existing rights.  Responsible for maintaining and managing accurate workload records.  Learning and enforcing Rights of Way policies and procedures and reviews easements for approval for recordation and entry into Easement Tracking System.   

Mid Level ROA:  This role prepares, obtains and maintains easement rights for proposed and existing facilities/projects. Negotiates land rights, processes quitclaims and identifies and defends company easement rights. Prepares and secures easements, special agreements, quitclaims, and plats.  Researches company prior rights on relocation projects to assist in determining prorate of jobs. Conducts written and verbal negotiations to discuss easements and rights-of-way and provides assistance to local/regional/system employees and the private sector. Reviews easements for approval for recordation and entry into Easement Tracking System. Works with local design, construction, and operations employees on right-of-way procedures.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

The knowledge, skills, abilities and experiences that are required for entry into this job include the following:

Associate Right of Way Agent I: 1-2 years right of way or industry related experience. 

Right of Way Agent : 2-4 years right of way or industry related experience.

Basic knowledge of right of way and easements, basic knowledge of drafting, ability to read and interpret plats, survey and site plans. Basic introduction/skill of GIS tools and mapping procedures. Basic knowledge of AutoCad.  

Basic verbal and written communication; interpersonal; negotiation; persuasiveness; proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Ability to work independently; process information quickly; deductive reasoning; research and analyze data and develop solutions.

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:

The actual salary offered may vary based on factors such as the selected candidate's qualifications, skills, experience, and work location.
