Expected Starting Salary Range: - Salary aligns with NIH Extramural postdoctoral pay scales.
Dr. John Erickson’s Laboratory in the Division of Neonatology and Center for Inflammation and Tolerance has an immediate opening for a Research Fellow or Research Associate to perform research investigating antibody glycobiology.
The ongoing projects currently revolve around two physiological contexts: (1) modifications to antibodies that enhance host defense against infection and (2) modifications that prevent autoimmunity. The projects are unified by integrating glycobiology and immunology, including sialic acid interaction with sialic acid receptors.
Dr. Erickson recently launched his laboratory and has a seminal publication in Nature. This position is supported by funding from the NIAID-NIH, but open to all applicant regardless of visa status.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Design, execute, and record laboratory experiments, and analyze the data.
• Research and improve current methods and evaluate innovative techniques. Implement this knowledge in the Division/Department.
• Present research at laboratory meetings, journal clubs, seminars, and meetings.
• Draft, write, and edit scientific reports, papers, journal articles, abstracts, and grants.
• Maintain currency in field through continuing education, literature, and seminars.
• Attend required Cincinnati Children’s training sessions and ensure regulatory compliance with all policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
REQUIRED
• Ph.D. in related discipline, MD, or equivalent required.
PREFERRED
• Experience in immunology, use of mice, and flow cytometry; antibody purification, expression and characterization preferred.
