Job Title: Reliability Specialist – Level III
Position Overview
The Reliability Specialist – Level III is an advanced-level role responsible for leading predictive maintenance (PdM) diagnostics, performing complex equipment analysis, and driving reliability improvements across client assets. This role applies deep technical expertise across multiple PdM technologies to identify failure modes, determine root causes, and deliver strategic, data-driven recommendations.
The Level III Specialist operates with a high degree of independence, serves as a technical resource for clients, and provides mentorship to junior team members. This position plays a key role in advancing client reliability programs and ensuring consistent, high-quality service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform advanced predictive maintenance (PdM) diagnostics, including:
o Infrared thermography (Level II certification preferred)
o Ultrasonic inspections
o Vibration analysis (fault identification and severity assessment)
o Oil analysis interpretation and coordination
- Analyze complex equipment data to identify failure modes and degradation trends
- Lead and participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and failure investigations
- Develop and deliver comprehensive reports with detailed findings, risk prioritization, and corrective action recommendations
- Interface directly with clients to present findings, explain technical issues, and recommend solutions
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to Level I and Level II specialists
- Support the development and refinement of client reliability programs and maintenance strategies
- Contribute to asset criticality assessments and maintenance optimization initiatives
- Assist in standardizing PdM methodologies, reporting formats, and best practices
- Ensure compliance with all safety standards, procedures, and client requirements
- Travel to client sites as needed
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and act in the best interest of the client
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, reliability, or PdM
- Associate degree (preferred) or equivalent technical experience
- Strong background in mechanical and/or electrical systems
- Demonstrated expertise in multiple PdM technologies
- Proven ability to independently diagnose equipment issues and recommend solutions
Skills & Knowledge
- Advanced proficiency in PdM data analysis and fault identification
- Strong understanding of failure modes, reliability principles, and maintenance strategies
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel for data analysis and trending)
- Working knowledge of CMMS/EAM systems and reliability data management
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis capabilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including client-facing presentations
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a field environment
- Leadership and mentoring capabilities

Physical & Work Requirements
- Ability to walk, climb, and work in industrial environments
- Willingness to travel regularly and work occasional off-hours or weekends
