Job description

Mirion Technologies is seeking a Quality Inspector for our Meriden location. We are looking for a detail-oriented professional who will be responsible for the maintenance of inspection activities. Someone able to detect and be part of the resolution of problems. Ensures that product integrity and quality standards are being met, which creates the Meriden Standard of Excellence. Monitors supports and helps improve the Quality Management System (QMS). Helps to create and maintain a positive and effective mindset atmosphere.
Essential Duties:
  • Responsible ensuring Incoming Inspection process completed on all parts that are required.
  • Monitoring and helping to improve quality on the production floor.
  • Handle In-process Inspection on production lines or product cells.
  • Ensure Quality protocol/standards are being met on the production floor.
  • Monitoring and improving Supplier quality.
  • Responsible for handling and supporting Supplier non-conforming products
  • Ensure the completion of the NCR (supplier Nonconformance Report) process.
  • Able to do internal audits.
  • Create internal corrective actions and ensure the validation of corrective & preventive action was effective.
  • Help coordinate with Production ensuring Material Review Board (MRB) process is being completed.
  • Help coordinate the activities for the calibration process for Meriden.
  • Help improve work instructions when products are being made.
  • Participate in improving our QMS documentation.
  • Help in creating, improving, and maintaining documentation for the Quality Department.
  • Understand customer expectations and requirements and help implement.
  • Responsible ensuring that all special customer requirements are meet on their order.
  • Participate in handling customer complaints and the resolution of them.
  • Continuously responsible for working and leading in a collaborative manner and promoting cross-functional teamwork and business efficiency while maintaining superior levels of customer service.
  • Help ensure that all our employees go home safely at the end of their working day.
  • Other duties/responsibilities as assigned by Quality Manager.

Experience:
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in quality inspection job functions at a manufacturing site.
  • Minimum ISO 9001:2015 standards. Ability to quickly identify possible quality issues in the process or product.
  • Ability to work well and self-discipline under limited supervision.
  • Good written, verbal communication and presentation skills
  • The mindset and attitude to work as one team in the Quality department and one voice on the floor.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Able to apply knowledge to resolve unprecedented problems or issues.
  • Application of Quality tools like 5 Why's, Fishbone diagram, Root Cause & Corrective Action (RCCA)
  • Conflict resolution
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent data collection analysis skills
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Working knowledge on APQP, control plans, PFMEA.
  • Computer literacy -knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, SAP, any other quality management software.

Education:
  • Associate's degree in engineering or equivalent work experience.
  • Certificate in quality assurance is a plus.
