KPMG is currently seeking an Associate, Software Engineer to join our Ignition Tax Product practice.
Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain software applications and GenAI-enabled tools that support internal operations and external M&A Tax client engagements
  • Collaborate effectively with Senior Software Engineers, M&A Tax professionals, and Ignition developers to translate business requirements into scalable data and software solutions
  • Utilize Microsoft Fabric and other cloud-based data technologies to manage, process, and analyze complex datasets supporting M&A Tax strategic initiatives
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including writing clean, well-tested code, debugging, and deploying high-quality technical solutions
  • Support the integration of AI models, workflow automation, and advanced analytics into existing tax platforms and everyday workflows
  • Contribute to technical documentation, participate in code reviews, and help continuously improve the team's modern software engineering and agile practices
  • Act with integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility to uphold KPMG's respectful and courteous work environment

Qualifications:
  • Minimum one year of recent full-time experience in software engineering, full-stack development, data engineering, or a related technical role
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, engineering, information technology, or an equivalent field is required
  • Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C#, or JavaScript, along with solid experience in database design (SQL/NoSQL) and API development
  • Hands-on experience or strong familiarity with Microsoft Fabric (for example, Data Engineering, Data Factory, Synapse) for end-to-end analytics and integration is highly preferred
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure (Microsoft Azure preferred), containerization, and modern DevOps practices (CI/CD, Git)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical team members and non-technical tax professionals
