This role serves as a stepping stone to more senior project management positions, providing valuable hands-on experience in managing various aspects of projects.

What is an associate project manager?

An associate project manager assists lead project managers with running large projects that need multiple supervisors. You find associate project managers in many different industries, such as construction, software development, and finance. As an associate project manager, you may be the primary contact between vendors and staff, or you may help manage the scope of the project by overseeing the cost and budget for the project and ensuring the team completes the project on time. Other responsibilities may include delegating tasks to staff members, reporting on the project’s progress to upper management, and making sure everyone stays on schedule.

Beghou Consulting

$125K - $180K/yr

Full-time

Job description

Beghou brings over three decades of experience helping life sciences companies optimize their commercialization through strategic insight, advanced analytics, and technology. From developing go-to-market strategies and building foundational data analytics infrastructures to leveraging artificial intelligence to improve customer insights and engagement, Beghou helps life sciences companies maximize performance across their portfolios. Beghou also deploys proprietary and third-party technology solutions to help companies forecast performance, design territories, manage customer data, organize, and report on medical and commercial data, and more. Headquartered in Evanston, Illinois, we have 10 global offices.

Our mission is to bring together analytical minds and innovative technology to help life sciences companies navigate the complexity of health care and improve patient outcomes.
Summary

We are looking for a client-savvy, execution-oriented Associate Manager of Project Management to serve as a primary day-to-day project contact for Beghou’s life sciences clients while driving delivery excellence across complex, multi-disciplinary engagements.

In this role, approximately 50-70% of your time will be client-facing — running status meetings, managing deliverable timelines, navigating stakeholder expectations, and acting as a trusted operational partner to biotech, pharma, and life sciences clients. The remaining time is spent on internal process improvement and platform governance to strengthen how Beghou delivers.

This is the right role for someone who combines structured project management discipline with strong interpersonal skills and comfort operating in a fast-paced consulting environment.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management (~ 50%)

  • Serve as the primary day-to-day project management contact for life sciences clients across biotech, pharma, and adjacent sectors, owning timelines, deliverable tracking, and proactive risk communication.

  • Lead client-facing status meetings and steering committee check-ins; prepare clear, executive-ready project updates and issue escalation briefs.

  • Manage full project lifecycle — from charter and work breakdown structure through execution and close-out — using Jira and Smartsheet.

  • Develop and maintain resource and risk plans; flag scope changes and drive resolution with both client and internal stakeholders.

Client Engagement & Relationship Management (~25–30%)

  • Build trusted, long-term working relationships with client counterparts; anticipate needs, surface issues early, and maintain a high standard of responsiveness and professionalism.

  • Support senior Beghou staff in client workshops, strategy sessions, and business reviews by owning the operational and logistical aspects of client interactions.

  • Translate complex analytical and technology deliverables into clear, accessible communication for non-technical client stakeholders.

  • Travel to client sites as needed (approximately 25–30% of the time) to strengthen relationships and support on-site delivery.

Internal Process & Platform Governance (~15%)

  • Map, document, and continuously improve cross-functional workflows (e.g., data ingestion, model deployment, client-deliverable production) to increase delivery speed and consistency.

  • Define KPIs and build dashboards to track operational health; implement change-management plans to embed best practices across teams.

  • Partner with product owners of Beghou platforms (e.g., Armada, analytics accelerators) to align internal roadmaps with client demand.

  • Coordinate UAT cycles, release notes, and user-enablement materials for platform updates.

Ad-hoc Strategic Initiatives (≈5%)

  • Lead special projects at leadership’s direction, such as tooling pilots, center-of-excellence launches, or M&A integration workstreams.

Your Qualifications
  • 6–8 years of project management experience in a consulting, SaaS, health-tech, or life sciences environment, with demonstrated ownership of client-facing engagements.

  • Proven track record managing external client relationships as a primary point of contact, including running status meetings, managing deliverable timelines, and navigating competing stakeholder expectations.

  • Proficiency in Jira, Smartsheet, Monday, or other PM tools.

  • Fluency in both Agile/Scrum and traditional Waterfall frameworks; solid working knowledge of SDLC and data/analytics pipelines.

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting complex project information to client partners and C-suite executives.

  • Ability to manage 3 - 5 concurrent projects across distributed teams and competing deadlines.

  • Comfortable with 25–30% client travel.

Preferred / “Nice‑to‑Have”

  • Certifications: PMP, Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Lean Six Sigma, ITIL, etc.

  • Prior exposure to commercial operations in biotech, pharma, or health‑data analytics.

  • Experience implementing governance around AI/ML products or data‑privacy frameworks (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR).

Success Metrics (First 12 Months)

  • Launch ≥ 3 high‑impact internal projects on time, within ±5% budget variance.

  • Reduce cycle‑time of a critical internal process by ≥ 10%.

  • Achieve ≥ 90% stakeholder satisfaction on quarterly retrospectives.

  • Contribute documented best‑practice playbooks adopted by at least two functional teams.

Benefits & Culture Highlights

  • Entrepreneurial, collegial culture that values integrity, excellence and client impact.

  • Hybrid work options, competitive compensation, comprehensive health coverage, 401(k) match, generous PTO, and professional‑development stipend (certification support included).

  • Opportunity to shape the operational backbone of a rapidly expanding life‑sciences consultancy.

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors considered in compensation decisions, including, but not limited to, skill sets; experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. At Beghou, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $125,000 to $180,000.

We are currently unable to consider candidates who require, or will require in the future, sponsorship for work authorization. Applicants must be authorized to work in the US on a permanent and ongoing basis without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.
At Beghou, you'll join a highly collaborative, values-driven team where technical excellence, analytical rigor, and personal growth converge. Whether you're passionate about AI innovation, building commercialization strategies, or shaping the next generation of data-first solutions in life sciences, this is a place to make an impact!

Compensation and Benefits:
Beghou Consulting offers a competitive compensation package and a full complement of benefits, including the following:

We provide comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as life & AD&D coverage, disability insurance, and a Lifestyle Wellness Account to help you feel your best.

You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles.
