Job description

A national geotechnical and environmental engineering consulting firm is seeking a Project Manager / Environmental Scientist to join their team based out of their Irvine, CA office. This role requires that the candidate be a DOSH-certified Site Surveillance Technician and CDPH-certified lead-related construction services inspector/Assessor who has experience interpreting architectural drawings. This role will work under the supervision of a Certified Asbestos Consultant/Industrial Hygienist or Certified Industrial Hygienist.

This role will work under the supervision of a Certified Asbestos Consultant/Industrial Hygienist or Certified Industrial Hygienist.


Responsibilities:

  • Conduct asbestos and lead-based paint surveys and assessments.
  • Prepare hazmat Survey reports.
  • Assist with the preparation of abatement specifications and operations and maintenance plans.
  • Provide abatement monitoring/oversight/clearance sampling.
  • Prepare scope proposals for clients.

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree, or equivalent preferred; however, proven experience may be considered in lieu of an Associate’s degree.
  • Possess 7-10 years of industry experience with a minimum of five years of experience in a project management role.
  • Individuals with California Asbestos and Lead experience and certifications are preferred.
  • Experience with other environmental work such as subsurface soil and groundwater investigations is a plus but is not required.
  • Proficient computer & Microsoft Office skills (e.g., Microsoft Word & Excel)
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Possess the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and flexibility with work schedule.

Certifications:

This position requires the appropriate California Certifications and experience performing and overseeing asbestos, lead-based paint, microbiological and hazardous building-material surveys, and abatement oversight/monitoring. Appropriate certifications include some or all of the following:

  • Certified Asbestos Consultant / CAC
  • Certified Site Surveillance Technician / CSST
  • Lead Inspector / Assessor / Project Monitor / Sampling Technician
