Howย Youโ€™llย Contribute:ย 

An Associate Project Manager (APM) in Electronic Security Systems (ESS) is an entry level position responsible for the scope, schedule, cost,ย qualityย and client satisfaction of a project throughout its entire lifecycle, from Initiating through Closing phases.ย 

The APM depends on the help of other people to perform most of the actual activities of the project and relies on other PMโ€™s and Tech Ops Directors for close supervision and training. A projectย managersย role is primarily focused around written and verbal communication to all project stakeholders.ย 

The APMย is responsible forย assistingย in performing project management functions for all projects,ย budgetsย and scopes. The Associate Project Manager is an entry level position and will work under the close guidance and supervision of the Tech Ops Director and other more Senior Project Managers.ย The APM may seek assistance and guidance from more senior personnel to address complex or new issues and remove roadblocks.ย The APM will usually be part of the PM team on larger projects.ย 

Whatย Youโ€™llย Do:ย 

Daily activities include project communications, scheduling, task lists for technicians, managing deliverables from/for other departments, and overseeing the completion of projects to clientย expectationย or better. The PMย is responsible forย completing systems integration projects on time, onย budgetย and achieving high customer satisfaction from our customers.ย The majority ofย this employee's time will be spent managing projects and communicating with all project stakeholders. This person will be held accountable for following and helping to improve the established processes.ย 

As a primary interface to the client, the Project Manager develops a strong long-term relationship - managing the client relationship, including expectations,ย communicationsย and satisfaction.ย 

Coordinates and communicates:ย 

  • Provides clear leadership and ownership for the project within Diversified, includingย accurateย andย timelyย verbal and written communication and follow up.ย 

  • Coordinates all activities associated with theย timely,ย accurateย and on-budget completion of the project, including engaging stakeholders, delegating responsibilities clearly and running client and internal project meetings.ย 

  • Ensuresย appropriateย and frequent communication between stakeholders.ย 

  • Provides support andย assistanceย to team members as needed in orderย helpย them be successful and get the job done.ย 

  • Provides and/or directs technical and administrative support to project team members. ย 
    Develops andย maintainsย all related project schedules.ย 

  • Performs field verification of prospective workย site.ย 

  • Documents all issues with site and keeps everyone informed of potential issues and solutions.ย 

  • Coordinates all drawings and documentation between all internal and external stakeholders.ย 

  • Facilitates and directs design reviews toย assureย proper documentation in the field. ย 
    Coordinates all system programming and final checkout of systems.ย 

  • Provides punch-list of remaining tasks after substantial completion.ย 

  • Coordinates training & turnover of projects toย client, serviceย department, & sales.ย 

Physical Demands: Theย physical demands described here are representative of those that may be met by an employee. The employee may be exposed to construction site conditions on a regular basis.ย Employeeย willย be responsible forย their safety while on job sites and toย comply withย all safety regulations in place by the GC. Use of PPE is usuallyย requiredย on job sites. The environment may include hospital and medical facilities. The employee can typically spend at least 40% of their time on their feet and beย requiredย to mobile around the construction site. The employee must have the ability to occasionally climb ladders, use stairs andย liftย and/or move materials up to 20 pounds in construction areas. The individualย is regularly required toย use keyboards, testย equipmentย and controlsย requiredย for SI installation projects. Specific vision abilitiesย requiredย for this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheralย visionย and depth vision. When not on construction sites, the employee will experience normal office conditions and beย requiredย to use office equipment such as computers, peripherals, etc.ย

  • Associates/Bachelorsย degreeย requiredย and/or equivalent experience.ย 

Required Skills/Qualifications:ย 

  • 1+ yearย of Project Administration or Project Management experienceย 

  • Strong technical abilities and the demonstrated ability to learnย new technologiesย quickly.ย 

  • Experience in a client-facing role, with a demonstrated pleasant professional demeanor.ย 

  • A solid understanding of PMP methodologies and best practicesย 

  • Travel up to 25% of the time isย requiredย 

  • Mustย possessย a valid driverโ€™s license in their state of residence.ย 

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:ย 

  • experience in commercial construction trades and settings or experience with Electronic Security Systems (ESS)ย 

  • PMP certification from the Project Management Instituteย 

  • Certified Security Project Manager โ€“ CSPM.ย
