We are seeking a Senior Project Manager/Highway Engineer III to support projects for the Transportation-Infrastructure Practice based out of our Plymouth, MI office.

As a highway engineer in Novi, you will join an energetic regional and national team of highway engineers, traffic engineers, transportation planners, stormwater engineers, and structural engineers, and National Environmental Protection Act (NEPA) specialists.

Your Role & Responsibilities
  • Autonomy & Leadership: With the support of your fellow employee owners, including company leadership and the project team, and direct access to a comprehensive learning and development program, you'll independently steer all technical aspects of roadway engineering and lead the project design, production, and quality assurance/quality control to deliver high-quality, innovative solutions to our clients.
  • Client & Team Communication: Leaning on your ability to build lasting relationships, you will effectively communicate with clients and the project team to exceed client expectations, resulting in repeat business and growth opportunities for our associates.
  • Experience & Connections: You'll leverage your connections and project experience to identify project opportunities, support the development of proposals, and select strong teaming partners to win work. You'll engage in industry events with the team, promote your collective achievements, and network with prospective clients and other industry professionals.
  • National Collaboration: With RS&H's focus on flexibility and work sharing, you will collaborate with multi-disciplined teams on projects that directly impact Michigan and bring positive momentum to the vibrant growth and development within the state. What You Need to Succeed
  • Professional Engineering License: You are a licensed professional engineer in Michigan, or can obtain reciprocity within six months, holding a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a similar discipline from an ABET-accredited university.
  • Experience: You bring 10+ years of progressive leadership experience, managing or serving as a technical lead on transportation projects with a construction value of $20M or less.
  • Quality Focus: You are dedicated to delivering industry-leading products, staying organized, paying attention to details, and ensuring effective quality control processes.
  • Client Partnership: You understand your client's goals, provide thoughtful options, advise on challenging decisions, and act as a reliable partner, proactively communicating to address challenges before they arise.
  • Technical Proficiency: You are well-versed in MDOT and Federal Highway Administration policies and procedures, with experience in OpenRoads, MicroStation, and/or Corridor Modeling programs.
  • Project Management: You maintain budgets, stay on schedule, and meet all deadlines and interim milestones, keeping projects on track.
  • Team Collaboration & Mentorship: You enjoy working collaboratively with teams and mentoring others, fostering a positive and productive work environment.

The base salary range for this position in Novi, MI is $134,115 to $171,596. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
