Description
Hoyle Tanner's Ground Transportation Division is seeking a Senior Project Engineer who has honed their craft for the last 10-15 years. You will be leading the team that solves technical challenges of significant scope, size, and difficulty. You have an integral part in recommendations to the program manager related to project development, client expectations, budgets, and proposals. This is the position you have been waiting for to show and share your technical abilities with junior engineers as well as clients at both the state and municipal levels. Career pathways to either project management or higher-level leadership.
Location: Chelmsford, MA
A short 27 miles from Boston, our office is centrally located just south of the confluence of US Route 3, Route 495, and the Lowell Connector, with a stop along the MBTA's Lowell bus route 15, and a short drive from the Lowell and Billerica commuter rail stops. This office is located along the developing Route 129 corridor in Chelmsford.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Hold the lead role in an integrated, multi-discipline team that solves technical project challenges of all types
  • Understand project budget, scope of services, project schedule and project development
  • Be a primary contributor or author of the development of technical and price proposals
  • Monitor and review spent hours and dollars versus percent complete in relation to project timelines and budget and provide recommendations to the Project Manager to stay on track
  • Understand the client's organization and develop professional relationships with client peers
  • Manage engineering staff and prioritize technical tasks to meet changes in schedule or resource availability
  • Be proficient in technical writing, editing, and presentations
  • Identify areas of improvement and regularly shares best practices and/or improve processes
  • Develop person-hour estimates and budgets
  • Act as a technical lead and demonstrate a specialized skill in a subject matter or application
  • Potentially be the primary team member responsible for overall quality control of the project
  • Pursue a technical engineering or project management specialization as part of your career growth.

Requirements
Qualified Candidates:
  • BSCE Degree required, MSCE preferred
  • 10+ Years of relevant experience
  • Current PE in NH, MA, ME, or VT
  • Experience with the multiple engineering programs
  • Salary is contingent on experience
