Job description

Join a growing CEI team delivering impactful infrastructure projects across Northeast Florida.

Meskel & Associates Engineering (MAE), part of ACES and MC Squared, is seeking a skilled and motivated CEI Bridge Inspector to support construction inspection and quality assurance efforts on complex bridge and transportation projects. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering high-quality work in a collaborative field environment. This role is ideal for professionals who take pride in ensuring construction is performed in accordance with contract documents, specifications, and industry standards.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Inspector: Minimum 2 years of construction inspection experience, including at least 1 year in bridge and/or roadway construction
  • Battered pile driving experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections of bridge construction activities to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and contract requirements
  • Monitor contractor operations, workmanship, and materials for quality and adherence to project standards
  • Maintain detailed daily inspection reports, including documentation of work progress, quantities, and field conditions
  • Conduct field sampling and testing of materials in accordance with FDOT and project requirements
  • Identify and document construction deficiencies and coordinate resolution with the project team
  • Review and interpret construction plans, specifications, and shop drawings
  • Communicate effectively with the CEI Senior Inspector, Project Administrator, contractor, and client representatives
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and maintain a safe work environment


Additional Responsibilities (Senior Level)

  • Coordinate and oversee activities of CEI Inspectors and Inspector Aides
  • Perform complex technical assignments and engineering computations
  • Assist with construction layout, field measurements, and verification of quantities
  • Serve as a liaison between project stakeholders, including client, contractor, and CEI team
  • Provide input on constructability, sequencing, and field condition evaluations
  • Support project administration with production tracking and staffing coordination

  • CTQP Concrete Field Inspector Level I
  • CTQP Pile Driving Inspection
  • CTQP Asphalt Paving Levels I & II
  • CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level I (Level II preferred for senior)
