Our Opportunity
We are currently seeking an Bioelectrical Engineering Associate for our Biomedical Engineering and Sciences Practice in Philadelphia, PA. In this role you will work as part of a team to solve difficult problems for our clients in the biomedical engineering space using both experimental and computational modeling tools.
You will be responsible for
  • Designing and executing experiments and computer simulations to assess electromagnetic and thermal hazards related to the use of medical devices and wearable electronics.
  • Actively participating in Exponent's medical device consulting work, including evaluations of implant materials, analysis of tissue/device interactions, and developing computational models of implantable medical devices.
  • Performing technical evaluations, analysis, and testing on the behalf of multinational medical device companies for the FDA and consulting in intellectual property and product liability litigation
  • Publishing at conferences and in peer-reviewed literature
  • Assisting in marketing the group's technical capabilities to clients and the scientific community
  • Developing additional expertise and gaining additional industry exposure through our unique technical consulting services

You will have the following skills and qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
  • Specialized knowledge in computational modeling tools (e.g., finite element analysis, computational fluid dynamics, etc.) for the study of electromagnetic and thermal physics.
  • Significant experience developing codes/scripts for the purposes of data analysis and/or workflow automation.
  • Familiarity with multiphysics problems and solutions using COMSOL or equivalent software packages is desirable.
  • Familiarity with EMI/EMC evaluations desirable.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
