Job description

Neurosurgeon, Assistant/Associate/Full Professor

The Department of Neurological Surgery at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) is seeking a Neurosurgeon at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Clinical Professor level to join the Neurotrauma program. Applicants should have a strong interest in neurotrauma and a desire to contribute to the expanding world-class program in traumatic brain and spinal cord injury at UCSF. The UCSF neurotrauma program is based at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital (ZSFG) with additional sites in the Bay Area including Oakland and Marin. Responsibilities include elective neurosurgery, shared trauma call at ZSFG and affiliate sites, and participation in a variety of ongoing clinical research studies and translational research programs at the UCSF Brain and Spinal Injury Center. There are also opportunities to develop independent basic, translational, and clinical research efforts. Other responsibilities include the teaching of medical students, residents and fellows.

Qualifications: MD, DO, MD/PhD, or an equivalent degree. Board Eligible/Board Certified by ABNS. Must have or be eligible for California medical license by the start date. Have experience and excellence in general neurosurgery and the ability to cover pediatric trauma emergencies.

Preferred Qualifications: Evidence of strong interest in neurotrauma, spine trauma, and neurocritical care during residency training, or additional specialized training/fellowship.

The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5. The minimum base salary range for this position is $154,700 - $405,900. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
