As a CPI Associate Product Manager, you will occupy a key role in working with and for a company that builds the physical infrastructure that powers, protects and secures the world’s digital technology. Day to day you will collaborate with a dynamic team shaping the future of Power & Electronic solutions by leading innovative product development and bringing new ideas from concept to successful launch. You will also team up with Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Operations, and other key teams while building business strategies and partnerships that drive growth. With a primary focus on software, you’ll also gain broad expertise across power solutions, creating opportunities to expand your impact and career.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Provides effective support to the Sr. Director in championing product line decisions and all product-related matters.
  • Leads and effectively manages assigned new product development projects to ensure coordination between Sales, Marketing, Design Engineering, Operations and other functional groups to ensure accurate and timely delivery of the project deliverables.
  • Gather detailed feature requirements from customers, support teams, partners and convert them into user stories to enable engineering estimation and development.
  • Hold and lead feature / bug prioritization meetings with engineering.
  • Working with engineering teams, create and maintain user documentation for all Power & electronic solutions.
  • Lead launch of all firmware updates and work with marketing on web posting and notification of updates to customers.
  • Create training material and perform training for all power and software solutions.
  • Working with marketing, developing application notes, knowledge base and blog articles.
  • Collaborate with partner companies on joint product development and marketing activities. Lead regular cadence meetings with them on support tickets.
  • Maintain product showroom and setup trade show booths.
  • Contributes to the management of the product life cycle of applicable product platforms by performing sales and margin analysis, identifying new product features or enhancements, supporting sustaining engineering activities and planning for end of life.
  • Assists in the development and maintenance of product roadmaps that accurately reflect evolving market requirements, leading to maximizing company revenue and margin opportunity.
  • Maintains a strong understanding of existing customer business needs, industry trends, emerging customer segments, market and prospective customer opportunities.
  • Participates in relevant industry conferences, forums and standards activities, reviews literature and seeks out information to understand and anticipate developing new technologies impacting future product demand.
  • Supports product development and pricing of custom configurations (TS products).
  • Prepares periodic reports and delivers analysis on revenue and gross margin trends, as well as other performance measurements for assigned product lines.
  • Performs competitive analysis on assigned product lines as required.
  • Manages the day-to-day flow of information and documentation between Product Management and other functional areas within CPI, as well as CPI customers in some circumstances, in a proactive, professional, and detail-oriented manner.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Represents and communicates CPI core values inside and outside the company.
  • Travels to tradeshows, product forums and departmental meetings, as required.
  • Travels to customer locations to support product.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Technical Competencies:
  • B.A. /B.S. degree or equivalent work experience. Electronic/Software/Electrical/Mechanical aptitude is essential.
  • 3-5 years of experience working with electronic solutions or related high-tech industry.
  • Good understanding of AC/DC; 1-phase / 3-phase power is a plus.
  • Proven track record of successful project management through effective resource allocation in a multi-disciplined, multi-site work environment.
  • Aptitude for understanding the technical aspects of manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office and Project software applications.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills. Public speaking experience a plus.
PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • 10-15% travel required.
  • Work in a manufacturing environment.

  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking.
  • Lift up to 25 lbs.
