Position Summary

The Product Development Engineer is responsible for leading product design and development efforts from concept through production. This role requires strong technical expertise, creativity, and collaboration across sales, manufacturing, and engineering teams to develop cost-effective, manufacturable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and drive new product design and development initiatives

• Translate customer and sales concepts into manufacturable designs

• Create 3D CAD models and detailed designs using SolidWorks

• Design prototypes; reverse engineer existing products as needed

• Determine critical product features and functionality through cross-functional collaboration

• Provide recommendations for hardware selection and sourcing

• Support manufacturing with new product launches and ongoing production needs

• Collaborate with internal teams (sales, production, quality, and engineering) to determine optimal design approaches

• Maintain accurate file management within PDM systems

• Ensure designs are cost-effective and aligned with manufacturing capabilities

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferred)

• Previous experience in Product Development Engineering required

• Experience with thermoforming, vacuum forming, or complex assemblies preferred

• Project management experience (preferred)

• Proficiency in SolidWorks and 3D CAD modeling

• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, including CNC machining and fabrication

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and prints

• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities in a deadline-driven environment
