Job description

At MJH Life Sciences our success is measured by your success! If you set your standards high and want to contribute to a winning team, we'll provide you with every opportunity to help grow our company and your career. Our associates come from all backgrounds, sharing one key quality: determination to succeed. We value being Service Focused, having a Passion for Winning, Innovation, Respect, Integrity, and Teamwork. Nothing means more to us than hiring people with these attributes. If you believe you're right for the job, this is the place to prove it!
We are seeking an Associate Product Engineer to join our Enterprise Platforms team - the group that builds the internal systems connecting MJH's business-critical platforms into cohesive, automated workflows. You will contribute to features across the full stack, from frontend UI to backend APIs to cloud infrastructure, with mentorship and support from senior engineers along the way. This role is designed for an early-career engineer who is curious, ships working software, and wants to grow fast in a high-impact environment where the work you build is used every day by real teams across the organization. You are expected to use AI-powered developer tools as a core part of how you write code, learn, and deliver.
What You'll Do
  • Build and ship features across Next.js applications, serverless APIs, and internal CLI tools with guidance from senior engineers
  • Use AI-powered developer tools - including Claude Code, Cursor, and GitHub Copilot - as a standard part of your daily workflow to move faster, write better code, and accelerate learning
  • Contribute to integrations with enterprise SaaS platforms including Salesforce, Workfront, Workday, and Bizzabo via REST APIs and webhook pipelines, picking up OAuth flows and API patterns as you go
  • Help build tools and services that empower internal teams to safely interact with enterprise platform data
  • Participate in designing and implementing event-driven automation workflows using webhooks, queues, and database-backed state machines
  • Explore practical applications of AI and LLM capabilities - including content extraction and conversational interfaces - under the guidance of senior teammates
  • Write clean, well-tested code and contribute to infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD pipelines
  • Learn and contribute to internal CLI tooling that streamlines how teams interact with enterprise platforms

What Sets You Apart
  • A curious builder who is excited by how platforms and systems connect, picks up new technologies quickly, and cares about writing code that solves real problems for real people
  • An AI-native mindset. You actively use tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar to improve how you develop and can speak to how they make you faster and more effective
  • 0 to 2 years of professional software engineering experience, or a strong portfolio of personal or academic projects that demonstrate your ability to ship working software
  • Proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript; exposure to React is a plus
  • Familiarity with REST APIs - you have fetched data from an API and understand how requests and responses work
  • Basic comfort with Git, version control, and collaborative development workflows
  • Some exposure to relational databases and how data is structured
  • Exposure to Next.js, serverless functions, or AWS through work, tutorials, or side projects is a plus
  • Familiarity with OAuth 2.0, third-party API authentication, or an ORM like Prisma a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field - or equivalent self-taught or bootcamp experience

AI Capability Expectation
Candidates should be prepared to discuss how they are currently using AI in their development work or learning. This includes:
  • Specific tools in active use and how they fit into your development workflow
  • Examples of how AI has helped you write, debug, or ship code faster
  • How you think about the limits of AI-assisted development and when to rely on your own judgment
  • Bonus: examples of projects or workflows where AI played a meaningful role in what you built or how you built it

Compensation Range
$65,000 to $80,000 per year, depending on qualifications. Eligible for annual company bonus program or commission incentive based on role. Compensation will depend on factors including educational background, skills, and professional experience.
Benefits Overview
We are proud to offer a comprehensive benefits package, including:
  • Health insurance through Cigna (medical and dental)
  • Vision coverage through VSP
  • Pharmacy benefits through OptumRx
  • FSA, HSA, Dependent Care FSA, and Limited Purpose FSA options
  • 401(k) and Roth 401(k) with company match
  • Pet discount program with PetAssure
  • Norton LifeLock identity theft protection
  • Employee Assistance Program through NYLGBS
  • Fertility benefits through Progyny

  • Company-paid Short-Term and Long-Term Disability
  • Voluntary Term Life and AD&D Insurance, plus Universal Life options
  • Supplemental Aflac coverage: Accident, Critical Illness, and Hospital Indemnity
  • Discounts and rewards through BenefitHub

Our Operating Standard
We operate with discipline, clarity, and accountability. The ability to effectively leverage AI to improve speed, quality, and output is an expectation in this role, not a preference.
