Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Fabrication Designer position focuses on Fabrication Deliverables and Processes within our Prefabrication Group. A successful Designer will create fabrication documents and details, using AutoCAD, Revit, and Excel, to support our fabrication crews. The preferred applicant will have a strong work ethic and a desire to learn and grow in their career.  The Designer will report to a Prefabrication Operations Assistant Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create project specific, fabrication details, drawings and other supporting documents using AutoCAD, Revit, and Excel
  • Assist in the development and implementation of design standards
  • Ensure proper dimensions of layout of equipment, devices, and other components through careful reading of specs or construction and engineering plans
  • Communicate technical aspects of a project with other disciplines in the prefabrication department
  • Read and interpret construction drawings and documents
  • Support the broader team in evaluation of new technologies to increase design efficiency

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or an Associate’s degree with minimum of 2 years' experience
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively use Microsoft Office, AutoCAD and Revit
  • General knowledge of construction/fabrication principles, processes, and plans
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively use Microsoft Office products
  • Solid interpersonal skills and desire to work in a team environment
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment as a self-starter with a strong work ethic
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles is preferred
  • Demonstrate behaviors consistent with McCarthy core values: Genuine, We Not I, All In
