Our Produce department is one of the first things customers notice when they walk into Joseph’s Classic Market. Produce Associates help bring the department to life by maintaining beautiful displays, ensuring top-quality fruits and vegetables, and helping customers make healthy, delicious choices.

Routine Tasks:

  • Provide excellent customer service by offering product knowledge, answering questions, and making personalized suggestions
  • Maintain product freshness through regular rotation and quality checks
  • Restock and rotate displays to ensure visual appeal and freshness
  • Accurately package, label, and price self-service items
  • Cut, trim, and prepare fruits and vegetables for display and packaged sales
  • Receive deliveries, unload trucks, break down pallets, and organize produce in prep areas and walk-in refrigerators
  • Maintain cleanliness of scales, cutting boards, tools, and prep areas in compliance with food safety standards
  • Safely operate produce equipment, including knives, scales, and pallet jacks
  • Assist with other tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Prior produce or food preparation experience preferred
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Basic math and reading skills
  • Strong attention to detail and visual presentation
  • Team player with a positive, service-oriented attitude
  • A passion for serving people

Physical & Work Environment

A Produce Associate works primarily in the Produce department and the prep/backdoor receiving area. This role involves walking and standing for extended periods, lifting and moving products weighing up to 80 pounds, and working in a fast-paced retail environment. Frequent interaction with customers and fellow team members is an essential part of the role.
