Job description

Burrow Global has an immediate opening for an Senior I&E Designer for a long-term opportunity with a chemical manufacturing company in Port Neches, TX.
This position will support Operations, Maintenance and Engineering teams by providing drafting and design support with P&ID's, MOC's Projects and general I&E related activities. This position requires a candidate that can work without supervision.
Daily Duties:
  • Support the engineering department with Management of Change (MOC) and Pre-Startup Safety Review (PSSR) processes as needed to ensure the safety of process changes.
  • Review and update P&ID's, PFD and other related engineering drawings.
  • Create and Update Instrument Spec Sheets for engineering department's approval.
  • Assemble and review the instrument documentation issued for construction.
  • Work with the Control Engineer to help sizing and selection of the appropriate instrument technology.
  • Working with onsite Maintenance on small project design
  • Estimate and Forecast Instrument Man-hours Requirement for each Project
  • Participate in weekly engineering meetings to provide updates to ensure the projects are moving forward according to schedule and budget.
  • Participate in EHS safety, maintenance scheduling and general MOC meetings.
  • Participate in Environmental, Health, & Safety initiatives as set forth by the company.
  • Participate in PHA/ LOPA as required.
  • Participates in and completes company-required training programs.

Skills and Knowledge:
  • Familiarity with chemical plant control system (DCS) is a plus.
  • Batch Process experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with Process Safety Management (PSM).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • AutoCAD, Technical Drafting, P&ID's
  • Able to navigate through multiple projects and priorities changes.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
  • Must have a level of proficiency AutoCAD,
  • Experience with documentation Systems, Internet, Email and Microsoft Office programs
  • Proven ability to understand P&ID's.

Education and Experience:
Associates degree in Drafting and Design or a related field. 15+ years of I&E design experience.
