Your Impact
As a Principal, Studies, Americas, you'll lead major and mega mining studies that support critical investment and development decisions across the Americas. You'll provide strategic direction, technical leadership, and cross-functional coordination to advance projects from early concept through pre-feasibility while ensuring alignment with business objectives.
As Part of Our Team, You Will
  • Lead major or mega mining studies from Conceptual through Pre-Feasibility stages.
  • Manage study scope, schedules, budgets, risks, and key milestones.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
  • Lead permitting, stakeholder engagement, and regulatory support activities.
  • Facilitate project transitions from early stage study phases into feasibility and execution.

Prerequisites for Your Success in This Role
  • University degree in Project Management, Geoscience, Engineering, Mineral Economics, or related discipline.
  • Extensive experience leading complex mining projects or studies.
  • Strong expertise in study management, budgeting, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in matrix organizations.
  • Advanced communication, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage priorities and deliver within timelines.
  • Spanish is desirable

Your Work Environment
  • The preferred location for candidates is near our corporate headquarters, in Denver, Colorado or our regional office in Vancouver, BC. This role does not apply for relocation.
  • Collaboration and interaction are expected with teams across the global, regional, and site organization as well as across other service and operational areas of Newmont across multiple time zones.
  • Hybrid work arrangement 2 day per week in the Office.
  • Approximately 20% travel required.

Work Environment, Pay & Benefits:
This position is based in our Denver, CO corporate headquarters, with flexibility for hybrid work. The base salary range is 143,200.00 - 204,500.00 (reflecting market rates and your qualifications). The final base pay offer will be based on individual factors such as your experience, and skills - we do not ask for or use your prior pay in setting your compensation. You will also be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on company and personal performance. Newmont provides a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision insurance, health savings/reimbursement accounts, 401(k), pension, paid time off, and family leave.
