This major academic health system operates as a $13 billion integrated healthcare network featuring five hospitals and multiple ambulatory locations across Southeast and Central Michigan. The facility includes a nationally recognized cancer institute with comprehensive oncology services, bone marrow transplant programs, and robust research initiatives through partnerships with leading academic institutions.
Opportunity:
Physician - Hematology Oncology
Job Details:
• Serve as Division Head for Hematology/Oncology and Associate Medical Director for Cancer Service Line
• Provide executive-level leadership and operational oversight for the Hematology/Oncology division
• Lead and oversee more than 40 full-time academic hematology/oncology physicians
• Manage strategic oversight of over $1 billion in annual Gross Patient Revenue
• Direct clinical, academic, and research programs within hematology and oncology services
• Oversee integration and expansion of oncology services across five hospitals and multiple ambulatory locations
• Provide leadership to Bone Marrow Transplant Program and infusion programs
• Collaborate with Cancer Center leadership to advance cancer research initiatives
• Expand investigator-initiated clinical trials, precision medicine, and population health initiatives
• Mentor early-career investigators and support academic development among faculty
• Support graduate medical education and fellowship training programs
• Maintain clinical practice (~25%) within the Hematology/Oncology Division
• Work allocation: 40% Division Head leadership, 25% clinical practice, 25% Associate Medical Director responsibilities, 10% academic and research initiatives
• Must be Board Certified in Hematology and Medical Oncology with Fellowship completion
• Experience required - not accepting board eligible or fresh graduates
• Requires Michigan Medical License, DEA, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• Clean malpractice and licensing history required
• H1B visa support available only
