Job description

Patient Escort

Fairview is seeking a compassionate and reliable Patient Escort to join our team at the University of Minnesota Medical Center – West Bank. In this role, you'll play a key part in creating a safe and supportive experience for patients by assisting with their transfers and transportation throughout the hospital. Working closely with the Patient Transport leadership team, you'll help move, lift, and escort patients with care, efficiency, and exceptional customer service.

Position Details

  • 0.8 FTE (64 hours per pay period)
  • Evening shift
  • Every other weekend required

Schedule

  • Monday, Wednesday, Friday 1p-930p
  • Every other weekend 10a-630p

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for safe physical transfer and transport of patient on hospital premises.
  • Communicates appropriate information with others according to established procedures so that day-to-day operations are effectively conducted.
  • Exhibits excellent customer relations with patients, visitors, physicians, co-workers, community and referral sources.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of safety related work behaviors to ensure safe job performance and the maintenance of a safe work environment.
  • Utilize provided technology to accurately record Transport data.
  • Continuously improve interpersonal skills and relationships.
  • Ensure patient satisfaction by providing prompt and timely responses to all transport related tasks.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be able to maintain certification of Basic Life Support as necessary
  • Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross)
