Job description

Olsten Staffing Services is currently assisting a local client in their search to fill a Packer/Tender Position in Bishopville, SC. This is a temporary opportunity that could turn into a permanent placement within the company.
As a Packer/Tender, You will need to be very observant and you will also need to be capable of packing quality parts as instructed. You must also be able to operate press machines at the pace they are cycling as required by work instructions
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Remove completed bundles from packing location
  • Secure finished packaged items by banding per work instruction.
  • Replenish packaging supplies
  • Remove waste from production areas to improve productively
  • Tend or operate machine that packages/wraps product
  • Remove completed bundles from machine and stack per work instruction
  • Remove finished parts from press
  • Inspect parts for quality such as fill, fusion, post expansion, etc.
  • Identify proper packaging container and ensure completed bundle is properly labeled
  • Maintain accurate count per bundle
  • Complete any required paperwork
  • Maintain 5S activities
  • Perform other assigned duties
Required Qualifications & Physical Requirements
  • 18+ years of age
  • Preferred High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Must be able to work 40+ hours a week
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • This position requires a lot of walking, stooping, bending, reaching, and crouching
  • This position also requires lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling (25lb Max)
Safety Requirements
  • Safety Glasses (Required)
  • Hearing Protection is available
  • Steel Toes Shoes/Boots (Required)
This will be a 2nd shift position, (Mon-Fri, 3pm to 11pm) with possible overtime.
Payrate is $19.50/hr.
