API International is a family business that was established in Portland, Oregon in 1979. We are a manufacturer and engineering solutions provider that specializes in flanges, expansion joints, valves, other pipe fittings, and custom-fabricated parts for the Agriculture, Exhaust, HVAC, and Water Works markets. The Shipping Coordinator supports the API Warehouse Supervisor by facilitating shipping operations, coordinating shipments, managing documentation, and monitoring transit. They ensure compliance with regulations, communicate with carriers and warehouse staff, and maintain accurate records. The individual also supports the Shipping Supervisor with miscellaneous assignments such as outbound reports, printing pick tickets, and scanning complete sales orders. This position requires working closely with various teams to optimize shipping processes and maintain efficient inventory management.
A typical day:
  • Coordinate, track, and ensure timely delivery to meet customer requirements for hot/expedited shipments, including air freight going out to customers: Coordinate daily freight operations. Schedule and coordinate non-LTL shipments such as stock transfer and full truckloads.
  • Print pick tickets and coordinate daily, future, pull & hold, and expedited sales orders with shipping supervisors:
  • Assist shipping associates with printing BOLs and MTRs for all sales orders.
  • Scan sales orders for invoicing and record-keeping after shipment confirmation.
  • Ensure all orders are accurately completed.
  • Prepare daily outbound reports.
  • Process and oversee Return Merchandise Authorizations (RMAs).
  • Maintain and order warehouse supplies.
  • Conduct inventory adjustments.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the shipping area.
  • Adhere to company safety procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate requires the following:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a shipping, warehouse, or logistics role. Basic understanding of shipping and logistics processes.
  • Familiarization with inventory management.
  • Knowledge of various shipping methods and carriers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook software.
  • Ability to prepare and manage shipping documentation.
