Job description

Responsibilities:ย ย 

  • Support the build and modification of testing sets, including electrical harnessing, mechanical assembly, and part rework.ย 
  • Preparing PCB'S for testing, including solderingย additionalย wiringsย replaceย damaged components after testing,ย placย thermocouples on the critical components. Perform expert-level rework, including fine-pitch components and BGAย packages..ย 
  • Assemble complex test setups involving electrical wiring, fluid plumbing, and mechanical integration. Ensure setups are robust, repeatable, and safe.ย 
  • Collaborate with design, validation, andย complianceย engineers to support test planning, execution, and troubleshooting. Provide feedback to improve product design and test efficiency.ย 
  • Perform electrical and mechanical testing on high-voltage power converters, following detailed test procedures and safety protocols.ย 
  • Interpret engineering drawings and schematics to supportย compliance testing.ย 
  • Own organization, cleanliness, and safety of the lab space. Ensure all tools, equipment, and test stations are calibrated, functional, and compliant with safety standards.ย 
  • Coordinate ordering, receiving, andย tracking ofย components and consumables. Maintain inventory of critical lab supplies and test equipmentย 
  • Challenge ideas and decisions with reasoning from first principles.ย 
  • Travel to different facilities worldwide to collaborate with teams and deploy our solutions.ย 

Qualifications:ย 

  • Diploma or Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent hands-on experience.ย 
  • 3+ years in a lab or R&D environment, preferably working with high-voltage or power electronics systems.ย 
  • Strong understanding of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.ย 
  • Basic mechanical aptitude - comfortable with plumbing, fluid systems (e.g., chillers, pumps), assembling enclosures and fixtures.ย 
  • Advanced soldering and PCB rework skills, including experience with reflow and hand soldering techniques.ย 
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documentation and setup execution.ย 
  • Familiarity with test instrumentation (oscilloscopes, power analyzers, DAQs).ย 
  • Experience in prototype rework, soldering, and mechanical fabrication.ย 
  • Proficient in crimping and harness fabrication.ย 
  • Knowledge of lab safety standards and electrical safety certifications (e.g., NFPA 70E). Certifications in OSHA, LOTO (Lockout/Tagout), or HV Safety Certification preferred.ย 
  • Ability to lift 20-40ย lbsย daily and toย maintainย a safe, clean working environment.ย 
  • Be engaged, proactive, and positive when taking on challenging tasks, owning assignments, and taking accountability for personal and overall team success.ย
