  • Perform customer coordination, Initial Test and Acceptance (IT&A), execution of all reporting functions, and complete data input associated with new service activations to ensure they are implemented in accordance with Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) standards.
  • Work directly with customers, solution architects and vendor SMEs to implement changes and also identify, analyze, and resolve issues.
  • Manage Service Orders, in accordance with Change Management procedures
  • Ensure Telecommunication Service Orders (TSOs) are in place and accurate for scheduled network additions and changes
  • Initiate network device configurations using configlets
  • Analyze DISN and databases to validate and implement customer requirements
  • Design and implementation of solutions to highly technical problems through testing, documentation and modification of configurations on network devices
  • Coordinate and program customer circuit activation with commercial vendors to establish the engineered solution for end-to-end connectivity
  • Perform network monitoring to assess if deployed changes have caused impacts to customer traffic using provided expectations of traffic behavior, lessons learned, and customer reporting
  • Utilize systems analysis techniques and procedures, including consulting with users to determine hardware, software, or system functional requirements in support of customer resources.
  • Engage with the DISA project managers and/or customers to resolve issues with incomplete or unclear requirements.
  • Reach out to stakeholders and facilitate approvals as necessary to ensure continual forward progress of the service request.

Qualifications
  • Proficient knowledge of various network hardware equipment specifications, configuration and testing processes, and industry specifications.
  • Knowledge of configuring, activating, testing, and analyzing network systems.
  • Network engineering, problem management, and performance management experience.
  • Understanding of basic telecommunications and information technology terms and technology.
  • Knowledge of data and voice network design carried over various transmissions systems, router to router connections using military and commercial protocols such as BGP and ISIS, switch-to-switch trunking to include VLANS, and circuit configurations through multiplexers.
  • Experience with network services (BGP, OSPF, DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP, WAN, VPN, VLAN, VRF, etc.) and network appliances (e.g., routers, load balancers, domain name servers, firewalls).
  • Ability to work in a team environment, but self-driven to complete assignments while continually developing proficiencies in processes.
  • Strong written and verbal communications, team building and collaboration skills.
  • An active Secret security clearance is required.
  • DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification (Security+ CE or equivalent).

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience at DISA, or knowledge of DISA systems and processes.
  • Prior experience with SharePoint data entry.
  • Experience performing customer outreach.
  • Experience with DISA Request Fulfillment process and associate documents (TSRs, TSOs, completion reports) and circulars experience.
  • Basic understanding of Department of Defense, its policies, and hierarchy.
  • Basic understanding of DISA organizational structure and how different elements (DITCO, etc.) contribute to fulfilling mission partner TSR requirements.
  • Network certifications: Cisco Certifications (CCNA, CCNP, etc.), Microsoft certifications (MCSE, etc.), security certifications (Security + CE, CISSP, etc.)- ITIL certification.
  • Engineer and models' connections across the DISN network by calculating bandwidth constraints.
  • Performs simulations to determine the optimal interaction and paths between the different network entities (routers, switches, nodes, access points, links, etc.).
  • Conduct network performance optimization using DISN provided tools to assist in the planning and design of multi-technology, multi-vendor networks, provide baseline analysis, cost-effective network change planning, and survivability testing.
  • Initiates network grooming, provides impact assessments, and provides alternative routing support during operational / real-world events. This is accomplished by ensuring the integrity of the analytical framework and modeling tools for end-to-end DODIN performance modeling and assessment.
  • Dynamically collect and assess key DISA performance parameters, interacting with model-based simulations, recommends optimal configurations to achieve prioritized DoD mission capability and effects.

Required Education and Experience:
  • Requires BS and 4-8 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2-6 years of prior relevant experience.
