Job description

Role’s Mission: 
The Fort Worth Campus HSM Guys Associate Minister is responsible for the spiritual growth and development of the high school guys of Fort Worth, TX. He will come alongside the High School Minister to maintain teams, systems, and processes by pastorally equipping others to do the work of the ministry. HSM deeply desires students to know biblical truth. 

Christ Chapel’s Mission:
“To stretch every involved person from the threshold of their spiritual pilgrimage toward becoming a fully developing follower of Christ” (Col 1:28-29).

Reporting Relationship: This position reports directly to the Fort Worth HSM Minister

Role Details: Full-time | Salaried | Exempt

Role Description:
The HSM Guys Associate Minister will facilitate this mission by MULTIPLYING, SHEPHERDING, CONNECTING. He will also be on the regular teaching rotation and will help assist on all HSM trips and ensure that they are Jesus centered, excellent, memorable, and fulfill the mission statement of the trip.  

1.    As a MULTIPLIER he will recruit, train, and shepherd a team of small group leaders who are committed to the vision of discipling high school guys.

  • These leaders are essential to ministry so he will train and equip them to be able to lead excellent small groups
  • He will champion these leaders and strategically put them in a position to show up in the lives of students through small groups, events, and discipleship opportunities. 

2.    As a SHEPHERD of high school guys, he will regularly meet with high school guys for the purpose of discipleship as well as create strong community among the SLT students.

  • Regular contact work will be essential in earning the right to speak into students’ lives
  • Intentional thought and planning for SLT development and spiritual growth
  • Consistent check-ins with small group leaders to have an accurate assessment of their spiritual heath

3.    As a CONNECTOR, the HSM Guys Associate Minister will work alongside staff to maintain ministry systems to accomplish the following: 

  • Onboard and capture new students.
  • Ensure all male students are connected to a leader who knows, cares, and challenges them with the scriptures.
  • Intentionally create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for incoming 9th graders each year. 

Role’s Requirements:

  • Must be a Christian with an Elder-qualified character (1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9)
  • Must be a maturing believer who is obviously, consistently, and increasingly manifesting the fruit of the Spirit in their daily walk with Christ (Galatians 5:22-23)
  • Must embrace our church’s doctrinal position and constitution without reservation and be an advocate of our philosophy of ministry both in public and in private
  • PREFERRED – a bachelor’s degree or seminary degree and a minimum of 2 years church or parachurch experience in a similar field. 

Additional information:

  • Based upon giftings, passion, and the discretion of their supervisor, this position will have the opportunity to preach in high school ministry.
  • This role is required to work several trips that involve overnight stays of multiple days.
