As an Associate Merchant, you will support category management by facilitating supplier negotiations, managing purchase orders, and resolving supplier-related issues to ensure accurate item setup across stores and online channels. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance customer experience through effective communication and merchandising strategies. Utilizing data analysis, you will contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and promotional planning. This role requires strong vendor relationship management and category strategy skills to drive business results while maintaining operational excellence and supporting the execution of merchandising initiatives aligned with organizational goals.
About the team:
The team owns the merchandising strategy and execution for the Lawn & Garden Chemicals category. The team is dedicated to achieving financial goals by curating assortments that meet customer needs and enhancing shopping experiences. They collaborate closely with suppliers and internal partners to manage category strategies, supplier relationships, and merchandising activities. Utilizing data analysis and negotiation skills, the team supports budgeting, forecasting, and promotional planning. They ensure accurate product information and optimize omni-channel customer engagement. Focused on continuous improvement, the team embraces technology and best practices to deliver value and maintain high standards in category management and customer satisfaction.
What you'll do:

• Provide administrative support for supplier negotiations and manage purchase orders within assigned categories.
• Assist merchants in resolving supplier issues and facilitate the setup of new suppliers for stores and online channels.
• Own execution of customer communication and education programs, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure accuracy of product content.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support category features, promotions, and modular assortment implementation.
• Analyze sales data and support forecasting and budgeting efforts to align with financial targets.
• Guide suppliers in developing customer-focused processes and maintain item setup and pricing recommendations.

What you'll bring:

• Proven experience in vendor relationship management and supplier negotiations within retail or related sectors.
• Strong skills in category strategy development and execution to support merchandising goals.
• Ability to analyze data effectively, derive insights, and create reports that influence business decisions.
• Proficiency in managing purchase orders and resolving supplier-related issues efficiently.
• Experience collaborating cross-functionally to support promotional activities and customer communication programs.
• Demonstrated capability to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial tracking at the category or subcategory level.
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of integrity, compliance, and ethical business practices.

The annual salary range for this position is $70,000.00 - $130,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
