Quality Engineer

Position
The Quality Engineer is responsible for maintaining and improving product and process quality through development of process documentation, data collection and analysis routines, internal and external (vendor/supplier) auditing to ISO 9001:2015 standards, and cross-functional problem-solving. Additional similar responsibilities supporting other company locations will be assigned as needed.
Responsibilities
  • Create and revise procedures, work instructions, and forms to promote standard processes, process monitoring, and record retention in all areas of the business.
  • Develop processes for data collection and analysis in each Production department.
  • Collect and analyze data to establish baseline quality performance in each department.
  • Work with Production management to develop department-level quality objectives.
  • Lead internal and external (supplier and vendor) audits for adherence to applicable ISO 9001:2015 standards.
  • Lead cross-functional problem-solving projects to drive performance improvements and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Lead cross-functional continuous improvement projects to improve business processes and eliminate waste.
  • Work with process owners to resolve corrective action requests using the 8D methodology.
  • Serve as a member of the Material Review Board to resolve nonconforming material issues.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, or related field; OR Associate’s degree in Engineering, Operations, or related field plus 4 years relevant experience; OR 8 years relevant experience.
  • Certified Quality Auditor or Quality Engineer Certification through ASQ or similar accreditation body
  • Thorough understanding of root cause analysis tools, including but not limited to fishbone, 5 Whys, Fault Tree Analysis, and Process Mapping.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional problem-solving and continuous improvement projects using a structured approach.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
