The final inspector must ensure that daily departmental goals are met and assist in inspecting all upholstered pieces/slip covers produced by the assigned upholstery line before sending them for further processing while meeting the objectives of Sutter Street Manufacturing in safety, service, quality, and cost. Primary area of focus for inspector will be Final Inspection on the weekday shift
The Quality Assurance Inspector position is located in Booneville, MS.
You'll be excited about this opportunity because you will....
  • Practice safe work practices and demonstrate safe work habits to the workforce and adhere to the Personal Protective Equipment standards of the company throughout the facility.
  • Always adhere to the policies of WSI while performing any duties as assigned with a positive attitude and willing spirit to assist others in the department, facility, and the organization. Always acting with professional courtesy and the highest integrity.
  • The selected candidate will "clean up" covers behind upholsterers by cutting all strings and detailing pieces before inspection process can begin. Perform daily tasks promptly and with high standards to achieve departmental and facility production goals using documented Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Assure that all product has consistent ½ inch seams and meets or exceeds all stated quality requirements for the style as specified Sutter Street Manufacturing.
  • Assure ticket, fabric, cushions, and pillows are correct with the PRD while performing departmental tasks safely, correctly, and quickly while demonstrating integrity and acting in a responsible and accountable manner while promoting hard work ethics through teamwork and collaboration with all associates.
  • Inspect the overall appearance to include standing back and visually checking and completing a final review to include, but not limited to, all seams sewn straight, no dropped stitches, no puckered fabric, no fabric defects visible, cushion corners even side to side with tailoring correct, cushions & back filled out correctly and fit the piece, no lumps or cat tracks, assure all welt is straight and even.
  • Work with the associates to maximize the productivity of the departments while ensuring quality and adhering to and complying with all safety policies.
  • Assure all dec, labels are in the correct location.
  • Suggest improvements to current techniques and processes.
  • Ensure that overall cleanliness of the area is maintained throughout the shift.
  • After inspected and if no repairs are needed, scan the ticket and load the piece onto the conveyor belt for the next step in processing.

  • At least 1 year of inspection experience in quality operations in upholstered furniture.
  • This is an onsite and in office role.
  • Good math and reading skills.
  • Experience in reading and understanding production tickets.
  • Ability to interpret simple instructions commonly placed in a production manual.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment to assure delivery requirements.
  • Good communication skills - oral and written and the ability to read, write, and understand English.
  • Ability to keep accurate records and follow documented procedures and standards.
  • Have good problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively and cooperatively as a team with other associates and managers.
  • Excellent time-management skills including ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Have a strong sense of urgency and time management to meet established deadlines.

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Bilingual, English and Spanish.

  • Ability to stand for up to 10-hour periods and bend and twist at waist and knees as required to inspect upholstered pieces and slipcovers.
  • Ability to see patterns on fabrics and color variations.
  • Must be able to lift 20-60 pounds frequently as needed.
