Job Description:

Holds a general responsibility for projects associated with facilities or production equipment throughout the manufacturing facility. Performs tooling design, maintains engineering drawing system, and tracks production equipment performance to implement efficiency and uptime improvements. Responsibilities may include equipment installation, electrical or mechanical work, equipment optimization, equipment spare parts setup and warehousing, and troubleshooting of equipment. Supports construction activities for various capital improvement projects as required.

  • Provide support and guidance of capital & expense projects from financial justification, to start-up and through to completion of Validation.
  • Monitor the work of outside contractors when performing facility modifications, installing, repairing, or investigating equipment within the facility.
  • Maintaining the Engineering document management system and contents including drawing control system along with drawing creation and updates to drawings, operation and Maintenance Manuals paper or electronic documentation as assigned.
  • Ability to lead incident investigations related to equipment malfunctions.
  • Specification writing, cost estimating, project scheduling.
  • Participation in cross-functional project teams and provide project communication and documentation.
  • Possession of practical knowledge in a technical field such as Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Controls, or Manufacturing Technology. This includes the ability to interpret detailed Engineering drawings, specifications, logic diagrams, schematics, verbal and written instructions.
  • For the proper use of engineering documentation which is required under cGMPs. Examples include: Engineering drawing system, Change Control system, SOP system, Validation documentation, etc.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements for facility and manufacturing equipment to ensure compliance to local, state, federal and international agencies.
  • Participate and/or lead airflow visualization studies in aseptic processing areas in support of ad hock or re-qualification studies.

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree desired. Five years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience, including machine design and/ or drafting, required (with no degree).

Preferred:

  • ADDA Certified Drafter, Autodesk Certified User, Autodesk Certified Professional, Revit Architecture Certified User, SolidWorks Certified Associate
  • 5 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of an Associate's degree.
  • Pharmaceutical and FDA Regulated Industry experience desired.
  • Maintenance or construction experience is desired.

Working Environment:

  • Ability to lift 40 pounds unassisted
  • May have periods of prolonged standing, sitting, and moving through the facility, and aseptic
  • Exposure to allergens
  • Work in aseptic areas
  • Work in confined spaces
  • Must be able to obtain aseptic gowning certification.
