POSITION PURPOSE:
This position provides support for the daily manufacturing needs of the production team. This position reports to the Manufacturing Support Lead of the facility.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Must be able to work in an expansive, highly active manufacturing environment and learn production processes and resolve issues directly in the production area.
  • Embrace the cross-training culture by a willingness to learn other jobs or tasks within the facility.
  • Know and abide by company rules and policies with regards to safety and conduct, including the use and maintenance of company provided PPE.
  • Attend meetings as required.
  • Flexible schedule is required in regards to overtime and start time according to work volumes.
  • Other duties may be assigned by a manager

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Support production's technical needs including process, NC, and ERP/MES troubleshooting in order to maintain quality and efficiency at a high level.
  • Generate NC programs for steel metal laser and CNC turret punch presses utilizing SigmaNest CAM programming software.
  • Read and interpret work orders/drawings/blueprints/sketches, along with written and verbal instructions to produce and edit part drawings/layouts in Solid Works and print part layouts for manufacturing.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with programs or missing NCs.
  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections of parts as requested by operators or supervisors.
  • Design, model, and test prototypes assemblies of products in SolidWorks.
  • Collaborate with office personnel, leads, and shop floor personnel to answer customer or sales questions about orders and manufacturing issues related to drawings or assemblies.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • Experience in SolidWorks for modeling and design. Sheetmetal, advanced assembly, drawings and custom properties experience is a plus.
  • Experience in turret/laser programming using a CAM software for programming sheet metal parts
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
  • Highly organized and attentive to tight deadlines with a sharp attention to detail.
  • Communicate and work well in routine/unplanned circumstances with sales, Team Leads, and shop personnel.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Experience using SigmaNest a plus.
  • Experience operating a Laser or CNC Turret Punch a plus.
  • Understanding of 5S and lean manufacturing a plus.

Physical Demands:
  • The Manufacturing Support Technician will spend most of their time sitting and using office equipment.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds may be required of supplies and materials.
  • The employee frequently uses both hands to grip, hold, and type.

Work Environment:
  • While this is an office-based role the Technician will be exposed to the below factors on the production floor:
    • High noise levels.
    • Contact with metals and lubricants.
    • Exposure to moving objects such as machinery, mechanical parts, forklifts, and carts.
    • Exposure to hot or cold temperatures when working in areas of the building that cannot be temperature controlled.
    • Direct handling of industrial glue and adhesive products.
  • Fast paced custom metal manufacturing environment.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associates degree in a technical field, completed technical training program, and/or 3+ years on hands-on experience in a related capacity.
  • CAD certification or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years' experience in a custom manufacturing environment a plus

Compensation: This range is provided by Allegion. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience.
  • The expected Base Hourly Range: $28.01 - $35.00 per hour. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
