Job description

Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer Technician - Time Study
Location: Plattsburgh, NY
Employment Type: 6-month contract with possible opportunity of extension based on performance and business needs
Industry: Transportation Manufacturing
Compensation: $31-$33/hour
Schedule: Both 1st and 2nd Shift positions open
  • 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, No weekend work required
  • 1st Shift: 6:00 AM-2:30 PM
  • 2nd Shift: 2:00 PM-10:30 PM

About the Opportunity: 
The Manufacturing Engineer Technician is responsible for defining and validating detailed manufacturing processes for new products. The role ensures the creation of industrial documentation, defines industrial master data, and establishes accurate manufacturing method times. During the serial phase, the position drives continuous improvement initiatives and supports the industrialization of product and process changes to meet Quality, Cost, and Delivery (QCD) objectives. 

What You'll Do:
  • Lead manufacturing process development by supporting product design reviews, improving manufacturability, defining production methods, and ensuring designs meet quality, cost, and delivery (QCD) objectives.
  • Own the time study process by developing, calculating, validating, and maintaining standard labor times to support capacity planning, process optimization, and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Develop and implement production methods, including tooling specifications, ERP routings, work instructions, inspection plans, CNC programs, workstation layouts, and compliance with safety and ergonomic standards.
  • Support new product introduction and serial production by participating in Process FMEA, prototype validation, First Article Reviews (FAR), First Article Inspections (FAI), implementing engineering changes, and resolving manufacturing issues.
  • Drive continuous improvement by supporting production teams, optimizing manufacturing processes, participating in Lean initiatives, capturing manufacturing lessons learned (REX), and improving safety, quality, productivity, and overall operational performance.
