Job Description:

This role is ideal for a developing individual contributor who works under general supervision. The position operates in a moderately structured environment, with flexibility to manage work within established procedures, guidelines, and boundaries. In this role, you will identify and resolve problems in straightforward situations while supporting a variety of manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities include performing functions across the manufacturing process, partnering with engineers on equipment setup and calibration, and completing rework and quality testing for parts, components, subassemblies, and final assemblies. You will also use advanced software programs to collect and analyze operating data, make online adjustments, and help ensure products, instruments, and equipment are performing effectively and meeting quality standards. 

 

Essential Functions:

  • Completes manufacturing in compliance with quality specifications.
  • Input for improved methods, tooling, and assembly aids required to achieve special design engineering requirements.
  • Supports root cause analysis of failed electronic components, and recommends corrective actions.
  • Corrects manufacturing failures by making adjustments, or replacing parts or components as directed.
  • May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
  • Perform continuous improvement projects targeting waste affecting product quality, cost, and schedule or other items of value to the business.
  • Maintain professional standards of performance, demeanor, and judgment at all times as detailed in company policy and procedure.
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs.
  • Uphold high ethical standards.
  • Support OT (nights, weekends, extended hours) as needed to meet schedule requirements and business needs.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by Management.
  • Works to achieve operational targets within job area which has moderate impact on the overall achievement of results for the team.
  • May be a resource to other employees in areas of expertise.

Required Qualifications (one of the following):

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience
  • 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Experience in prototype and first time build processes.
  • Knowledgeable in manufacturing process improvement through adoption of more efficient methods using tools such as, lean, six sigma, just do it, and TOC techniques Demonstrated ability to comprehend schematics, logic drawings, layouts, wire lists, and prints.
  • Experience with SAP, SAPME, TeamCenter enterprise resource planning and lifecycle management software.
