Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Quality Engineer opportunity in Oak Ridge, TN.
Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and compliance-driven Quality Engineer to support a high-precision industrial manufacturing project within the nuclear industry. This role ensures that all components, processes, and documentation meet rigorous quality standards and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement quality plans, procedures, and documentation aligned with ISO standards
  • Perform inspections, audits, and surveillance of manufacturing processes and suppliers
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions for non-conformances
  • Review and approve engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing records for compliance
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and procurement teams to ensure quality throughout the lifecycle
  • Maintain traceability and documentation for regulatory audits and customer reviews
  • Support qualification and validation of equipment, processes, and personnel
  • Monitor and report quality metrics, trends, and continuous improvement initiatives

Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in quality engineering, preferably in the nuclear, automotive, aerospace, or defense industries
  • Strong knowledge of ISO quality standards
  • Proficiency in quality management systems (QMS), inspection tools, and data analysis
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills
  • Active or recently active DOE Q or DoD Top Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field
  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Six Sigma certification
  • Experience supporting DOE, Automotive, Aerospace or highly regulated industries
  • Familiarity with cleanroom protocols and contamination control
