System Administrator

Full Time, Remote, San Antonio, TX area

Secret Clearance

**This position is contingent upon contract award**

Overview:

Semper Valens Solutions is seeking a System Administrator to support the implementation and ongoing operation of a Department of Defense information system.

The ideal candidate will have broad systems administration and technical support experience and be comfortable working across system maintenance, troubleshooting, user support, documentation, onboarding, and training activities. This position is primarily remote, with preference for candidates located in the San Antonio, Texas area.

Responsibilities

  • Support administration and maintenance of production and non-production system environments.
  • Troubleshoot system, application, and user issues.
  • Assist with software installation, configuration, patching, updates, backups, and routine system maintenance.
  • Support system monitoring and resolution of technical issues.
  • Assist with user onboarding, account setup, and access-related activities.
  • Develop and maintain system documentation, operating procedures, and user support materials.
  • Support administrator and end-user training activities.
  • Work with application, database, cybersecurity, and program management personnel to resolve issues and maintain system availability.
  • Support testing, system updates, and implementation activities.
  • Participate in occasional after-hours maintenance or critical system support when required.

Required Qualifications

  • Active DoD Secret security clearance.
  • CompTIA Security+ or equivalent DoD-recognized cybersecurity certification.
  • Experience performing systems administration, technical support, application support, or similar IT functions.
  • Experience troubleshooting Windows and/or Linux systems, applications, or enterprise IT environments.
  • Working knowledge of system maintenance, patching, user administration, and basic cybersecurity practices.
  • Ability to develop clear technical documentation and operating procedures.
  • Strong communication and customer support skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a distributed technical team.
  • Ability to meet DoD/DHA personnel security and network access requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting DoD, Federal Government, or other regulated environments.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure, AWS, or other cloud environments.
  • Experience with enterprise monitoring or IT service management tools such as ServiceNow.
  • Familiarity with DISA STIGs, vulnerability remediation, or RMF environments.
  • Experience supporting databases or enterprise applications.
  • Experience creating training materials, user guides, or technical procedures.
  • Experience providing technical training or onboarding support.
  • Candidates located in the San Antonio, Texas area are preferred.
