Job description

We Are:

Accenture's Salesforce Business Group - one of the largest and most experienced Salesforce practices in the world. We've been building on this platform since the beginning, which means we've seen what works, what doesn't, and how to deliver at scale. We're Master Certified across all 12 industries and clouds, and our team holds over 4,200 certifications including Certified Technical Architect (CTA). In Life Sciences specifically, we bring deep domain knowledge alongside our Salesforce expertise - helping clients modernize commercial operations, improve patient engagement, and build the platforms that power their next phase of growth. We invest in our people through ongoing training, specialization paths, and a culture of continuous learning. Visit us here to find out more about Accenture's Salesforce practice.

You Are:

A Salesforce Life Sciences Functional Architect at the Manager level within Accenture's Salesforce Business Group. You sit at the intersection of functional and technical - fluent enough in configuration and business process to hold your own with a functional lead, and deep enough in platform architecture to earn the trust of a tech lead. You translate business requirements into scalable Salesforce solutions, own design decisions across workstreams, and ensure what gets built is what was envisioned. You're energized by complexity, comfortable with ambiguity, and know how to bring a room to a decision.

The Work:

  • Lead end-to-end solution design for Salesforce Life Sciences implementations, defining architecture across functional and technical dimensions including data model, integration patterns, security model, and platform configuration.

  • Serve as the connective layer between functional requirements and technical delivery - translating business process design into implementable Salesforce solutions and ensuring alignment across workstreams.

  • Own solution documentation including solution design documents (SDDs), architecture decision records, and data flow diagrams; ensure these remain current and are understood by the full delivery team.

  • Facilitate design sessions, requirement workshops, and solution walkthroughs with client stakeholders and internal delivery teams.

  • Identify and manage solution risks, design gaps, and cross-workstream dependencies; escalate issues proactively and drive to resolution.

  • Guide and review configuration and development work to ensure adherence to Salesforce best practices, platform governance, and client-specific standards.

  • Support estimation, scoping, and staffing conversations during pursuit and early delivery phases.

  • Contribute to practice development including accelerators, methodology, and point-of-view content for the Life Sciences vertical.

  • Travel may be required for this role. The amount of travel will vary from 0-100% depending on business requirements.

Here's What You Need:

  • Minimum of 6 years of progressive Salesforce delivery experience, with meaningful time spent in both functional and technical roles

  • Experience as a Solution Architect or senior functional/technical lead on at least 2 full-lifecycle Salesforce implementations

  • Experience with Salesforce Life Sciences Cloud (LSC), Health Cloud, or equivalent pharma/biotech CRM platforms and an understanding of how these clouds support commercial and patient-facing use cases Experience with Agile, hybrid, or scaled Agile delivery frameworks (e.g., Scrum, SAFe) and comfort adapting methodology to client context

  • Experience with AI/ML tools and platforms (e.g., Salesforce Einstein, Agentforce, Microsoft Copilot, or generative AI tools) and an understanding of how AI capabilities can be applied to Life Sciences commercial solutions

  • Experience supporting Life Sciences clients and/or the Life Sciences industry

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent (minimum 12 years) work experience. (If Associate's Degree, must have minimum 6 years' work experience)

Bonus Points If:

  • Salesforce certifications relevant to the SA of Functional Lead role: Sales Cloud Consultant, Service Cloud Consultant, Platform App Builder, Health Cloud Accreditation, or Certified Application Architect

  • Experience working across both ISV/AppExchange solutions common in Life Sciences (e.g., Veeva, IQVIA) and native Salesforce platforms

  • Familiarity with integration patterns and middleware (e.g., MuleSoft, Salesforce Connect, REST/SOAP APIs) sufficient to make architecture tradeoffs

  • Experience with Salesforce CPQ, Revenue Cloud, or other commercial platforms relevant to pharma/biotech go-to-market models

  • Previous experience in a pre-sales or pursuit capacity, including solution design contributions to RFP responses or orals

  • Consulting experience with a medium to large firm in a cloud or CRM-focused practice

  • Multi-shore delivery experience and comfort working across time zones and distributed teams
