Job description

General Position Scope:

 

Responsible for preparation of closing packages on approved loans that are in accordance with industry and regulatory guidelines. Verify that documents and closing information are following applicable guidelines and the closed loan meets the necessary purchasing standards.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Review necessary documents and calculate and input fees to generate Closing Disclosures in a timely manner in accordance with regulatory compliance.
  • Verify loan information and supporting documentation to make pertinent data entries in the system to generate accurate loan packages.
  • Work with attorneys, mortgage personnel, and outside vendors, as needed, to gather, review, and approve all needed documentation that must be cleared before closing.
  • Ensure all loan approval requirements have been met, closing documents collected, and all information is current and valid on the Loan Approval and Lock-In. Seek any approval of changes or updates, as necessary.
  • Send funds to attorney for disbursement, once all closing conditions are met.
  • Provide loan disbursement authorization to attorney upon satisfactory review of needed executed closing documents.
  • Order Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac UCDs upon loan closure.
  • Register loan with MERS database upon loan disbursement.
  • Make necessary post-closing corrections to loan files, as needed, to ensure loans are purchasable by investors and meet bank standards.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of Bank products, services, policies, procedures and appropriate regulatory issues as related to daily job functions including but not limited to: Bank Secrecy Act; Privacy Act; Fair Lending Act; Regulation E, etc. Complete required compliance training and adhere to the Bank’s standard of conduct.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Participation in the bank’s High-Performance Rewards Connections program.
  • Make referrals to the Mortgage Center and Wealth Management.

 Position Requirements:

 

  • Associate’s Degree preferred
  • Two years mortgage loan closing experience
  • General computer and typing experience with Microsoft Office Suite, to include Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Work outside of regular business hours, as deemed
