Job description

Kumon's mission is to enable children to achieve their full potential. As an associate, you'll join an organization that offers outstanding health benefits, a strong retirement savings plan, generous paid time off including 21 paid holidays a year, and annual professional development funding to support your growth.
About the Role
We're looking for a Salesforce Solutions Developer who thrives on building innovative solutions. In this role, you'll independently design, develop, and deploy Salesforce applications using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), SOQL, Flow, and APIs. You'll work primarily across our Service Cloud, Experience Cloud and Marketing Cloud environments, including hands-on work with Agentforce and other AI-driven capabilities. This is primarily a software engineering role focused on custom development and integrations rather than a Salesforce Administrator position centered on declarative configurations.
You'll also partner closely with business stakeholders - asking thoughtful questions, translating requirements into scalable technical solutions, explaining trade-offs in clear business terms, and demonstrating the impact of what you deliver. Success in this role means independently owning solutions through their full lifecycle: from requirements gathering and solution design through development, testing, deployment, and ongoing production support.
This position is based in the NY/NJ area and requires regular in-office collaboration.
What You'll Do
• Design, develop, and maintain custom Apex classes, triggers, and asynchronous processes to deliver scalable Salesforce solutions.
• Build and maintain Lightning Web Components (LWC) that provide intuitive, high-performing user experiences.
• Develop and support solutions across Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, and Marketing Cloud, including case management, automation, and campaign functionality.
• Build and configure Agentforce and other AI-driven capabilities that support customer service and marketing initiatives.
• Design scalable Salesforce data models that balance business requirements, security, reporting, and platform performance.
• Write and optimize SOQL/SOSL queries while applying best practices for governor limits and bulk-safe development.
• Determine when declarative solutions (Flow, validation rules, approval processes) are appropriate and when custom development is required.
• Build and maintain integrations with external systems using REST/SOAP APIs.
• Own Salesforce solutions through the full lifecycle from requirements gathering and development to deployment and production support.
• Partner with business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions and communicate technical concepts in clear, business-friendly language.
• Troubleshoot production issues, participate in code reviews, and contribute to platform best practices.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and stakeholder demonstrations.
What We're Looking For
  • 5+ years of hands-on Salesforce development experience, with a strong track record of personally building Apex and LWC solutions.
  • Salesforce Certified Platform Developer I required; Platform Developer II and JavaScript Developer 1 a plus.
  • Experience with Service Cloud and Marketing Cloud, including hands-on experience with Agentforce, Einstein AI, or other Salesforce AI capabilities preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience independently owning a solution from design through production support.
  • Strong communication skills, with real experience translating business requirements into technical solutions for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with SOQL/SOSL, Flow, integrations (REST/SOAP APIs), and the Salesforce security/sharing model.
  • Strong understanding of governor limits, security, and sharing models.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Based in the NY/NJ area, with the ability to work from the office as required.
  • Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S.; this role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
