Associate Internal Controls information

What is the best degree for auditing?

For an Associate Internal Controls role, a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business is typically preferred, as these fields provide foundational knowledge of financial processes and internal controls. Certifications such as CPA or CIA can enhance qualifications, and strong analytical skills are essential for effective auditing. Relevant experience and familiarity with audit software also support success in this field.

What does an internal control associate do?

An internal control associate is responsible for evaluating and monitoring a company's internal controls to ensure compliance with policies and regulations. They identify risks, test control effectiveness, and recommend improvements, often using audit tools and documentation. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are essential for this role.

What are the 5 main internal controls?

For an Associate Internal Controls role, the five main internal controls typically include control environment, risk assessment, control activities, information and communication, and monitoring activities. These controls help ensure the accuracy of financial reporting, compliance with laws, and operational efficiency. Familiarity with internal control frameworks like COSO is often beneficial for this position.

Will internal audit be replaced by AI?

Internal audit professionals, including those in associate internal controls roles, use judgment, analysis, and understanding of business processes that AI currently cannot fully replicate. While AI tools can automate routine tasks and assist auditors, human oversight remains essential for complex assessments and decision-making. AI is expected to augment rather than replace internal auditors in the foreseeable future.

About Us: Silent-Aire is a premier owner equipment manufacturer dedicated to providing custom solutions for data center customers. Our product line includes large-scale equipment such as air handling units and modular data centers. We pride ourselves on innovation, quality, and delivering tailored solutions to meet our clients' unique needs.

Position Overview:

The Senior Electrical Designer is a technical subjectmatter expert within the Equipment Design Engineering (EDE) department, responsible for leading the execution of complex electrical designs for OEM equipment used in data center and missioncritical applications.

This role goes beyond drafting execution and includes technical ownership, crossdiscipline coordination, mentoring, and drawing quality leadership. The Senior Electrical Designer ensures electrical designs are codecompliant, manufacturable, standardized, and productionready, while actively contributing to continuous improvement of EDE electrical design practices and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

What you will do:

  • Lead the development of complex electrical layouts and detailed production drawings for OEM equipment, including power distribution, control panels, enclosures, conduit routing, grounding, and cable management.
  • Serve as a technical authority for electrical design execution within EDE projects.
  • Ensure designs comply with CEC, NEC, UL, CSA, customer, and internal EDE electrical standards.
  • Coordinate closely with mechanical designers and engineers to ensure proper integration, access, serviceability, and clashfree layouts.
  • Drive Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Safety, and electrical installation best practices into all designs.
  • Lead and participate in design reviews, DXF overlays, and drawing quality checks prior to release.
  • Support and mentor junior electrical designers, providing guidance on standards, methods, and best practices.
  • Investigate and resolve manufacturing issues, NCRs, and field feedback related to electrical design.
  • Contribute to the development, refinement, and adoption of EDE electrical design standards, templates, and best practices.
  • Support engineering change requests (ECRs) and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Interface with Manufacturing, Quality, Sourcing, and Project Engineering to resolve build issues and improve design robustness.

Design Execution & Working Approach:

  • Execute electrical designs using PTC Creo and EDEapproved tools and workflows.
  • Apply standardized electrical parts, installation methods, and documentation practices.
  • Independently manage the electrical scope on projects with minimal supervision.
  • Follow EDE processes for drawing release, document control, and revision management.
  • Maintain clear, accurate, and wellstructured documentation to support production and service.
  • Collaborate effectively in a multidiscipline EDE environment.

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, OR a Technical/Associate Degree or Diploma with equivalent experience.
  • 5 + years of experience in equipment design, manufacturing engineering, or DFMfocused roles.
  • Seniorlevel experience delivering productionready OEM equipment designs and drawings.
  • Proficiency in PTC Creo 9, with working knowledge of Windchill PLM and SAP.
  • Working knowledge of electrical codes and standards (CEC, NEC, UL, CSA).
  • Demonstrated ability to independently solve complex technical problems and drive alignment across stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing builds, issue resolution, and design changes.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to clearly document and defend technical decisions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in HVAC, data center equipment, enclosures, modular systems, or largescale industrial equipment.
  • Familiarity with ratedriven or highvolume manufacturing environments.
  • Exposure to power distribution, control panels, and industrial equipment wiring.
  • Professional designation or eligibility is an asset.
