Job Description

The Fitness Instructor is responsible for the fitness journey of clients from beginning to end. As part of the Auberge family, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional hospitality to all of our guests every day. We strive to provide excellence to our staff as well ensuring that each day is an opportunity to educate, inspire curiosity, and create an environment of genuine hospitality at every turn. Responsibilities include:

  • Prepares appropriate equipment, music, and handouts for each class
  • Prepare fitness room to guest specifications 
  • Teaches scheduled classes;
    • Beginning and ending on time
    • Providing adequate warm-up, exercises, stretching, and cool down
  • Instructs patrons on effective and workout methods
  • Explains proper techniques
  • Demonstrates exercises
  • Teaches appropriate methods to strengthen specific muscles
  • Expected to attend continuing education courses and be current with Industry standards
  • Assists patrons, answers questions, and maintains a positive exercise experience for members and class participants. 
  • Ensures guest comfort and safety throughout the class  
  • Maintain professional ethics while ensuring personalized service is provided to each guest so they feel their needs are met
  • Maintain work area with necessary supplies. Ensure the room is immaculate at all times
  • Assist fellow associates with daily operations to support healthy teamwork and contribute to the success of the spa.
  • Communicate to management any and all occurrences involving staff or guests in the spa that require attention including guest complaints or misconduct.
  • Actively promote the spa, treatments, services, sessions, and retail, as well as programs, promotions and/or discounts available.
  • Regularly attend, participate in and support training and staff meetings for the spa. Keeping personal certifications up to date without Management prompting.
  • Have Guests of the Inn sign sign-in sheets and deliver to concierge after class
Qualifications
  • At least two years of experience as a fitness instructor.
  • Fitness Certification required through a nationally recognized organization
  • High energy personality, passionate about health & fitness and helping others achieve their goals
  • Knowledge of the fundamentals of exercise science and fitness techniques.
  • Understanding of nutrition and diet.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead classes effectively.
  • First aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation training required
