Job description

Inside Sales Representative 

Supports the customer relationship by maintaining a deep product technical knowledge and providing technical advice, support, and expertise to solve our customers’ problems. This position works closely with the sales team, other departments, and customers to create initial layouts for accurate quotes and proposals. Liaisons with all departments within the company to support the customers’ technical needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Collaborate with sales, engineering, and customers to provide technical expertise and develop accurate, competitive quotes and proposals.
  • Ability to effectively communicate extensive knowledge of Span Tech products and material handling solutions to identify and deliver the most efficient solutions for our customers' needs.
  • Assist sales team to help solve complicated customer needs in the most efficient manner.
  • Review product design for compliance with customer requirements or specifications.
  • Ability to accurately process sales opportunities and quotations in accordance with established sales policies, procedures, and company standards.
  • Work closely with sales team to provide CAD drawings to customers as needed.
  • Visit customer’s facilities as needed to document customer’s requirements and determine appropriate solution for customer, review future projects, etc.
  • Create initial bill of materials and component lists for electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Maintain knowledge of current information pertaining to any assigned accounts.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of all customer, sales, and project-related interactions.
  • Leverage industry knowledge and creativity to develop and compare alternative system designs that optimize the application of different material handling equipment, components, and conveyors.
  • Assist with preparation of proposal documentation to facilitate the transition to the detailed design phase.
  • Work with sales team on product testing when needed.
  • Review product design for compliance with customer build specifications.
  • Participate in the facilitation of trade shows.
  • Required to entertain customers and prospects periodically.
  • Attend all meetings as required.
  • Consistently follow and support all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
