The IS Senior Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for designing and overseeing the implementation and supporting data center solutions that take into account appropriate redundancy, availability, scalability, security and manageability requirements of Lakeland Regional Health's IS Department. This individual will be part of a team that is responsible for the technical strategy, vision, architecture and evolution of the LRH technical infrastructure and associated technologies. This role will be responsible for the architecture and implementation of server, virtualization and storage platforms required to support Lakeland Regional's patient, guest and employee population. He/she must have the experience and technical competence to design data center infrastructure and standards and follow through with their implementations and operational hand over. This individual will work collaboratively with other groups to lead sustaining engineering activities such as design, upgrades, maintenance, enhancements, and expansions as well as provide last-level support of escalated technical issues and mentorship to junior IS associates.

Standard Work Duties: IS Senior Infrastructure Engineer
  • Designs, installs, tests, troubleshoots, maintains and serves as a subject matter expert as well as develops standards for LRH's server hardware, storage (SAN) and virtual infrastructure including virtual desktop (VDI) infrastructure
  • Serves as a single point owner to evaluate evolving Servers, DFS, Active Directory, Storage, DHCP and DNS infrastructure and perform as a consultant interface to the Business Units for new company initiatives
  • Designs and implements solutions based on business requirements and IT strategies, as well as rectify gaps and pain points within the current state. With a focus on the following areas: Virtualization, Server/OS, Desktop/OS, Purpose-Built Appliances/Applications, and End-User Computing design administration
  • Screen and analyze application performance for potential bottlenecks, specify possible solutions, and act jointly with developers and third party vendors to apply those fixes as a single point owner for problem resolution
  • Leads the development of technical road-maps, designs, and testing plans for the introduction of new end-user computing and infrastructure systems/technology and changes to existing end-user computing and infrastructure systems/technology going into production
  • Designs and supports third party software implementation as a technical resource and Maintains in house and cloud infrastructure
  • Identify, repair, and resolve any hardware or software failures within the enterprise, in a timely manner and following company procedures and standards
  • Evaluate applicable requirements to provide appropriate technical specifications and solutions
  • Work closely with other departments, teams and engineers to gather specification, design, build and troubleshoot virtual and physical systems
  • Develops and maintains standards, systems documentation and technical procedures, user guides and run-books

  • Subject matter expert in one of with working knowledge of others: VMWare vSphere, ESXi, Horizon View and NSX, Citrix XenApp / Workspace with working knowledge of others
  • Expert Knowledge of PowerShell, PowerCLi, PowerShell DSC
  • Subject matter expert in Windows operating system administration, engineering and hardening, 2012, 2016, 2019 and Windows 10. MS Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, Microsoft SQL server administration to include high availability clustering
  • HP-SIM, SCOM, SCCM, packaging methodology, and WMI
  • Microsoft Clustering, Windows Fail-over clustering, SQL AlwaysOn Clustering
Nonessential:
  • Capacity Planning, Strategic Planning, Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery solutions
  • Vulnerability Management and server / system OS hardening
  • Experience in a larger, highly available environment (500+ servers and multiple sites), ideally a healthcare environment
  • VMWare Site Recovery Manager, PowerCLI/Scripting, vRealize/vCloud Operations Manager, vRealize/vCloud Automation
  • ITIL /ITSM process and procedure. Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills

- Minimum six years of experience in IT infrastructure engineering to include: Inter-operational relationships of various infrastructure components, such as server systems, storage technology, network technology, information security and application tools
- Server infrastructure and Server systems design, capacity planning, operations methodology, error detection and resolution techniques
- Expert level knowledge and experience in designating and implementing VMware ESXi, vCenter, Horizon View
- Expert Knowledge of PowerShell, PowerCLi, PowerShell DSC
- Business continuity, Disaster Recovery using VMWare SRM
Experience Preferred:
- Server Hardware management with Cisco UCS Systems and/or HP ProLiant blade chassis, servers and HP OneView
- Enterprise system monitoring, log management, capacity management and event analysis
- Experience in server OS hardening, developing and administering server security standards to include Client OS and Server OS
- Subject matter expert on one or more of the following technologies with working knowledge of others: Microsoft Exchange (on Premise or O365), Microsoft SharePoint Server 2016 / 2019, Microsoft Skype for Business, Microsoft SCCM, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Clustering, Storage design and management
