Position Summary
The Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, performance, and scalability of the organization's technology infrastructure. This role designs, implements, and supports on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments while proactively minimizing downtime, mitigating risks, and maintaining operational excellence.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with storage, server, virtualization, and cloud technologies and will serve as a technical lead for infrastructure initiatives. This individual must be capable of translating complex technical issues into clear business recommendations for leadership while maintaining comprehensive documentation of infrastructure architecture, configurations, and operational procedures.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Administer and support cloud infrastructure, including Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 services.
  • Provision, configure, and monitor SAN, NAS, and cloud storage environments to guarantee high availability and performance.
  • Manage enterprise storage systems, replication technologies, backup solutions, and disaster recovery platforms.
  • Monitor infrastructure health, capacity, performance, and availability to ensure maximum uptime and operational efficiency.
  • Diagnose and resolve storage alerts, hardware faults, network connectivity issues, and failed backup jobs.
  • Serve as a Tier 2/3 escalation resource for complex server, storage, cloud, and identity management issues.
  • Lead infrastructure projects including system migrations, cloud adoption initiatives, hardware refreshes, and technology upgrades.
  • Develop, test, and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans for on-premises systems, Azure workloads, virtual machines, and Microsoft 365 environments.
  • Implement and maintain security best practices, including vulnerability remediation, patch management, and access control.
  • Manage and support enterprise monitoring and reporting tools such as Varonis, ManageEngine, Dell iDRAC/OpenManage, and related platforms.
  • Maintain accurate network diagrams, topology maps, hardware inventories, configuration documentation, and standard operating procedures.
  • Collaborate with vendors, service providers, and internal teams to resolve infrastructure issues and improve system performance.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and provide recommendations to improve reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency.
  • Participate in after-hours maintenance activities and emergency response efforts as required.

Required Qualifications
Education
  • Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

Experience
  • 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise infrastructure environments.
  • Provision, configure, and monitor SAN, NAS, and cloud storage environments to guarantee high availability and performance.
  • Strong experience administering Windows Server operating systems.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, and hybrid cloud environments.
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise storage hardware (e.g., Dell EMC) and backup solutions (e.g., Commvault, Rubrik).
  • Experience with disaster recovery planning and implementation.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure monitoring, reporting, and management platforms.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Microsoft Azure Administrator, Azure Solutions Architect, VMware VCP, or equivalent certifications.
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation.
  • Experience supporting cybersecurity initiatives, vulnerability management, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience working within financial services, legal, healthcare, or other highly regulated environments.

Physical & Work Requirements

  • Work structure is Hybrid - usually requiring 3 days per week in office and 2 days per week remote.
