Job description

Would you like to help develop a robust security program to minimize company risk?

Would you like to develop your career in our great team?

About the Team:

LexisNexis Legal & Professional, which serves customers in more than 150 countries with 11,800 employees worldwide, is part of RELX (www.relx.com), a global provider of information-based analytics and decision tools for professional and business customers. Our company has been a long-time leader in deploying AI and advanced technologies to the legal market to improve productivity and transform the overall business and practice of law, deploying ethical and powerful generative AI solutions with a flexible, multi-model approach that prioritizes using the best model from today's top model creators for each individual legal use case.

The company employs over 2,000 technologists, data scientists, and experts to develop, test, and validate solutions in line with RELX Responsible AI Principles (https://stories.relx.com/responsible-ai-principles/index.html).

About the Role:

We are seeking a Senior Business Engagement Specialist (BISO) to join our growing Information Security organization and help shape how security enables product innovation, customer trust, and business growth.

You do not need to come from a traditional security background. Successful candidates may have built their careers in product, strategy, operations, customer-facing roles, risk, commercial leadership, technology, or security. What matters most is your strength in relationship-building and communication, and your ability to help teams make thoughtful, well-balanced decisions.

As a trusted advisor to business and product leaders, you will embed security into the business lifecycle - ensuring security-by-design principles are applied across new feature development, product launches, and customer delivery. By bringing security considerations into early planning and using pragmatic, business-aligned risk evaluation, you will help leaders make confident, informed decisions that support innovation while managing risk responsibly.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary security liaison for assigned business units or product lines, translating business objectives into actionable, risk-orientated security priorities.

  • Represent Information Security in executive and product leadership forums, articulating the business value of proactive risk management.

  • Partner with colleagues across Product, Technology, Compliance, and Go-To-Market teams to lead early security discussions and ensure security requirements are identified, tracked, and embedded across the full product lifecycle.

  • Help establish clear, repeatable processes that make it easy for teams to understand security expectations.

  • Use measurable metrics and reporting to track progress and demonstrate value to the business.

  • Contribute to the maintenance of risk registers, quantifying financial impact and coordinating mitigation efforts across cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Partner with the wider Information Security team to ensure effective communication, consistency of standards, and measurable business outcomes.

Requirements:

* We welcome candidates from all backgrounds, not only those with formal security experience. You may have learned what you know through traditional roles, cross-functional projects, or lived experience.

  • Experience in a senior role in any of the following areas: Security, Product, Technology, Strategy, Operations, Risk, Customer Success, or Commercial leadership.

  • Experience working within cross-functional teams, with a proven ability to build consensus among diverse groups.

  • Skilled at translating complex information into clear insights that help leaders make well-informed decisions.

  • Comfort evaluating different types of risks and helping others understand them.

  • Strong communication, relationship-building and influencing skills.

  • A natural curiosity and pro-active approach to learning - especially when it comes to how products work, how customers use them, and how security supports trust.

  • Willingness to learn about core security concepts - we will support and invest in your development.

  • Advanced degrees or certifications are welcomed but not required.
